Foreign National Slaps Manmohan Singh's Security Staff At Delhi Book Event

Again, I do not condone this woman's actions, she is obviously out of order. I sure would hate to be in her employment esp. As a domestic!

She should be brought up for assault BUT can you tell me one thing.....not long ago a similar video was made of Stalin, a Tamil Nadu politician slapping a passenger on a bus for not showing due respect to him. Can you tell me if any assault charges are going to be brought against him? Will one hair on his head be messed with? . The fact is that we have one law for the rich and powerful and another for the rest of us.

Which one of us has not waited hours in the sun because some VVIP movement is expected and the roads are all closed? How often are planes delayed because some VVIP is running late? Have you ever had to stand aside twiddling your thumb because some VVIPs son is making his way to the gym?

This is getting out of hand. India is a republic, these people are supposed to be our representatives chosen from amongst us. In fact they behave as a chosen people, there own schools, hospitals, water supply, roads closed and painted especially for them to move in.

If the panelist had been an eminent scientist, author or businessman instead of a politician would security have been so rigid? Is the contribution of a scientist, author or business leader so insignificant compared to that of a politician albeit exPM? Are we not all given the same rights in a republic ...or is it that some are more equal than others?

This lady is out of hand, but if the situation was reversed and a politician slapped her, all she could do was turn the other cheek.
I guess we are talking about this incident which is related to Feminism and VVIP culture, this event doesn't have anything related to it. There was a event which was being organised here, some book festival I think, when the entries were closed this women came and wanted to enter.

I don't think this woman was making any kind of feminist statement. Feminism is about political and economic equality to men not about slapping some poor guy doing his job. She was just being an arrogant entitled little b!tch and I would not be surprised if she turns out to be a product of this same VVIP culture, probably daughter of some well connected person and used to getting her own way.

She was, she though slapping a man for no reason is justified. and for taht second part and then its a win over VVIP Culture that she still couldn't enter and she was shouted upon and respect to men who didn't slap her back

Well only she knows what was going on in her head. We can only surmise, though I still stand by her being nothing but a spoilt airhead brat who was never taught to respect other people. I bet she is embarrassed now though.

This is not 'feminism', this is only arrogance.
Yes, my take too

Lol..

If that's how Turkish woman deals with cops in India, here it is how they are generally dealt with, true feminism=gender equality=equality on approach

If it's about feminism, then here how feminsts are dealt with by the National Police.

Well, tbh there's a massive police brutality in Turkey in which they got their powers from the Internal Security Law. As a result, she shouldn't have done that, and the police should have fined him for his assault, of it had happened in Turkey she would get plenty of pepper spray and plastic rounds then prison. If US, dead maybe. Anyways hope the officer is fine.

@levina @Abingdonboy @hinduguy

That's the undue advantage to women in this region, their hands are out of control because men respect them and don't hit back. All these feminists following western world should see what happens to women in US who dare not listen to the police.

She was replied back a good way, these feminists these days. @levina Your words on this incident
She's an idiot!!!
That was a high security zone, and the guy was merely doing his duty.
Hats off to his senior officer who backed his man and confronted her.

Lol..

She would get no sympathy in India because she doesn't deserve it. She slapped the man without any provocation.

This is not 'feminism', this is only arrogance.
I agree!!!
It's the arrogance of power.

Sounded like a French but her action were pretty Germanic.

Yeah ...feminism is such a headache these days...arrogance some of these women are appalling..
Try sorting out a woman and womens' organizations will be scrambling all over you especially the NCW. There will be endless TV debates denouncing the behavior of that security guard by the self styled guardians of womens' rights and that poor sod will be hauled over the coals for it.

Women will forever remain the underdogs never mind their endless diatribes concerning equal rights and womens' emancipation! They will always think they can do anything and get away with it because they are women.

By the way, for the ladies on PDF, I ain't a male chauvinist pig!

Woman who slapped cop may be a diplomat, say police
In their search for the woman who slapped a policeman at an event last week, Delhi Police on Tuesday met with the officials of the Turkish Embassy, as they believe that the woman may be a diplomat.

The woman had slapped a Delhi Police officer, deployed as part of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s security detail, after she was denied entry to a book launch at the WWF auditorium on Friday. A police complaint had been filed three days after the incident, when a video of the incident went viral.

Police have now asked the organisers of the event to provide details about the 250 people on the event’s guest list.

After registering the case, police started their investigation and came to know that only one woman from the Turkish Embassy was invited to the programme.
A team of three police officers later met with the officials of Turkish Embassy and verified the details with their employee, who was invited to the programme last Friday,” police sources said, adding that she had not attended the programme.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (New Delhi district) Jatin Narwal said that a case has been registered at Tughlak Road police station and investigations are going on.

In the video, the woman can be seen arguing with the officer, asserting that she should be allowed to go inside as she had registered for the event. She waits a while and grows furious when she does not receive any response from the officer.

She says, “You are going to lose your job; I’m telling you. I’m going to slap you.”

She later slaps him in front of other Delhi Police officers.

Another person at the spot argues with the woman but she refuses to apologise for the incident, the video shows.

Woman who slaps Delhi cop in viral video is Turkish diplomat, possibly named Sahida; The gentleman, who defends cop, still not traced

A woman, who went viral last Friday after slapping Delhi Assistant Sub Inspector Om Prakash, is a Turkish diplomat, possibly named Sahida.

There is still no information on the man, possibly a civilian, who defended the cop and asked her to back off.

Following procedure, Om Prakash did not let the Turkish diplomat into a book launch function where former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was present. A video footage that captured her furious response went viral.

The Delhi police filed an FIR and launched their probe on Monday after the outcry that followed the video. They went through the list of 250 people, who had been invited for the event, and zeroed in on Sahida, who failed to turn up, report The Indian Express.

They also met with the Turkish Embassy officials to ascertain her identity. There is no information on her role or if she enjoys immunity. Without diplomatic cover, Sahida faces a serious charge of assaulting and obstructing a civil servant on duty.

In the video, Sahida is seen abusing Om Prakash. "You are going to lose your job, I'm telling you, I'm going to slap you," she says.

After she slapped him, an unidentified person intervened and shouted back at her, saying her action was not acceptable. She threatens him also, before leaving the spot.

Om Prakash was quoted by Mail Today saying other security officials did not come to his help as she was a woman.

Utter nonsense, she should have been detained immediately, no other policemen in the world would allow this foolishness to go unpunished. Why that women was allowed to walk away is beyond me.

People have been shot in the US for a lot less...

It can't be MMS's security staff. He is still under SPG protection... & I don't think you can pull that kinda stunt with a SPG staff & get away with it.
