MQM will give Karachi people targeted killings, RAW activities, kidnapping, BoriBand Lashe, bhattaKhori and ghost employees.

What will PTI give people of Karachi?

Establishment hold all the cards. PPP has full support of Establishment and after 18th amendment, PPP has all the power in Sindh.

Or PPP giving to people of Karachi & if Pmln for Punjab ,PPP for Sindh & BAP for Balochistan so MQM for betterment for Karachi & it's people so why stomach pain emerging in some people stomach no doubt that MQM & Jamat-e-Islami are the major political parties of Karachi PAKISTAN & people of this City trust on them...

MQM couldnt deliver, PTI failed, PMLN has no interest in Karachi, PPP doesnt want to do anything. nothing is going to change for karachi. what should have been the richest city of pakistan, is now a broken down backwater. and the apathy shown by the rest of the country, especially Islamabad, is appalling.

most Islamabadis just say that karachi is of no use and move on, as if its not part of the country. and not just Karachi, this attitude of Islamabadis is for nearly every other region of Pakistan. They are living in paradise and dont care what the rest of the country is going through. Our "ارباب اختیار" , the elite, the decision makers simply dont care.

Trust them? Seriously doubt about that.
MQM is an Establishment party and cannot win without their support.
If Establishment remove their support, MQM cannot even win 5 seats.

This is the plan of Establishment.

Only way to fix this by taking away establishment support for PPP and MQM, new Halqa Bandi in Sindh and PTI to make Sindh government.

The metropolis has been on a steady decline ever since it was abandoned as the country's capital. The orphaned city's development and maintenance is still not decaying fast enough to draw on par with other cities of Sind like Larkana and Sukkur.

During the 80s it saw rise to ethnic tensions as populism gripped the country towards the tale end of yet another dictatorship followed by a torrid 90s concluding with WoT where millions of refugees were adjusted within her territory.

Much of her history as a port town, Karachi has been seen as refuge, be it from political prejudice or economic inequality. The mini Pakistan essentially mirrors the plight of the rest of the country on a city's scale.

The middle class of the city are being held hostage by industrialist lords while rest of the country is held hostage by feudal lords.

No more excuses

Editorial
January 14, 2023

THE ECP has done the right thing by refusing to delay the LG polls, due tomorrow in Karachi. The postponement was based on flimsy excuses put forth by the PPP administration in Sindh and its allies in the MQM.

The ECP’s decision on Friday followed the high drama of the previous day, when the disparate wings of the MQM came together — or were brought together — and called for delaying the polls yet again due to what they said were faulty delimitations.

In a late-night development, the Sindh government obliged its coalition partner by announcing that the second phase of the LG polls in the province would be delayed in Karachi and Dadu, though it would go ahead in a few other districts.

The ECP asserted that the polls would go ahead as planned, while asking the centre to deploy army and Rangers’ personnel to provide security to sensitive polling stations.

Before discussing the dire need for elected local bodies in Sindh, a few words about the spectacle that played out in Karachi on Thursday are in order. In a marriage of convenience — or perhaps a ‘forced marriage’ — the MQM-P took back into its fold the PSP, led by Mustafa Kamal, as well as Farooq Sattar who had formed his own faction.

The PSP was created by Mr Kamal in 2016 in dramatic fashion, as the former Karachi mayor tore into his erstwhile party and ex-benefactor Altaf Hussain. However, the PSP’s electoral performance was dismal, despite the general view that it enjoyed the establishment’s blessings.

It remains to be seen how this ‘united’ motley crew attempts to regain the electoral space once claimed by the Altaf-led MQM. However, what is disturbing is that the reunion seems to have taken place at the behest of some of the party’s ‘friends’ in Rawalpindi, who apparently do not want to see the PTI consolidate its position in the metropolis.

The MQM is free to make or break alliances with whomsoever it wishes. However, what cannot be accepted is the party’s desire to stop the LG polls by hook or by crook, as the Muttahida leaders insinuated they would do in Thursday’s presser.

They may have genuine concerns about delimitations and have every right to boycott the election process if they feel it is not fair. But to forcefully stop millions of citizens of the megacity from choosing their local representatives cannot be allowed; it very much harks back to the violent MQM of old.

The fact is that changing an inadequate local government law, addressing unjust delimitations and negotiating with the provincial administration for more powers for the city government is something best achieved by an elected mayor.

No further obstacles should be placed to prevent the people from exercising their constitutional right.

Establishment is always against Karachi. They will make sure Karachi remains Kachra Kundi. Establishment will never share power with anyone. To remain relevant, and stay in power, they will continue political engineering.

Bajwa doctrine and those who are following it will do whatever it takes to protect themselves. In order to do that, they will try to destroy PTI.
This is all part of their game to unite MQM and support PPP.
PPP is getting massive support from Establishment, Judiciary and Election commission.

It is not a surprise, that the People's Party has won in that Karachi, where people have to be brought from inside Sindh to hold a meeting and take out a procession.
