For Paf: How To Invest The $270 Million Saved From The F16 Purchase

Hi,

Let us even out that number to $300 million even. This is a good sum of money for the paf to invest into its future procurement program.

The first 50 million dollars need to put as down payment for a LEASE of 1 sqdrn of J10C aircraft----if you can get them with lesser down payment---well and good---.

The second 100 million dollars needs to be spent for a physical upgrade of the JF17 to the future BLK4 standards.

The BLK4 aircraft should have a physical upgrade like the Gripen NG----wheels moved outwards towards the wings---providing more space on the fuselage for fuel storage---the modular fuselage upgraded for a larger powerful engine---the wings given a slightly larger covered area---basically making this aircraft around 15 - 20 % larger with a load carrying capacity of around 7500 lbs---9 to 11 hard points.

With this design paf would kill two birds with one stone.

It would still build the BLK 2/3---because this aircraft has its own unique utility----the supposed BLK 4---the larger aircraft will fill in the hole of the missing F16's and take it to the next step upwards---.

My supposed BLK 4 project would be completed in about a year / year and a half time and in two years looking at production.

The rest of the 100-150 million dollars would be down payment for an electronic package available from either Vixen or Aselsan or the chinese for the purchase of a potent electronic warfare system for an X number of aircraft.

Once the first sqdrn of the BLK 4 is available and integrated---the paf may chose to return the leased J10C's if it wants to----.

Thery can then look forward to building about a 150-200 my BLK4 type JF17's and keep up with the BLK3 production as well if there are any buyers for that aircraft

We also need to keep in mind that the BLK 4 would also be coming with a 2 seater aircraft.

With a larger aircraft in service---the paf then can focus on the J31 type of aircraft.

The main reason I am taling about my BLK 4 design is that the if we got the F16's---we won't start to get them for another 2-3 years----and same with any other aircraft from an outside vendor.

We can have our own BLK 4 in that time period---and a sqdrn of Leased J10C's would give us the needed cover for the time being.
Why don't we try improving relationships with US rather than looking around knowing deep inside that it can't help.

Reis Erdogan is in no mood to take a "NO" for an answer. Just yesterday he has fired the PM, one of his most trusted and loyal colleagues, for going little soft and slow. So, 15 years may be little over stretched since the plan is to introduce by 2025. I won't be surprised if an advanced prototype flies by 2023, the100th anniversary of the republic. Turkish companies have gained experience from building F16s since late 80s and working extensively on various F35 subsystems. Cooperation with SAAB and BAE are off course there. Work on EW and radars are going in parallel. As if these humongous amount of funds are coming from Gayib. I have become dumbfounded seeing the determination, motivation and ambition of the present day Turkish engineers. Where have they got it from? I've got no clue...

Hi,

If it flies by 2023----it will go into production after another 3-5 years. First they will meet their own needs then others.

Maybe the U S will do the same as it did with Israel---offered them the F16 at such a price that hey shut down the Levi program----. The U S may make such a deal with Turkey for the F35---pakistan would be doomed again.

Pakistanis don't understand that part either---they are looking for shiny new toys elsewhere---when they already have their's gift wrapped on their door steps.

What is the current latest status on getting the F-16s? US not budging, Pakistan not budging and no one going to blink first?...or something else?

Not getting F16 is a blessing in my view. Pakistanis can work well only when they are pushed to limit. I hope and pray that this sanction of F 16 stays so that we may take JF 17 to a whole new level.

That you should have thought after the Osama killings----. When you left your country's image be smashed to kingdom come----.

There is no mending fences with the U S anymore---.

You need to understand something---and contrary to what the pakistanis believe----

In the U S---the public rules the president's office---just because it lets him get away with many things---does not mean the public has no say.

Pakistani generals forgot that one more time----. If the american public don't like you---you are history.

These TFX and KFX/XFX are ultimately going to turn into off the shelf purchase of JSF.
Turkey is already planning to get upto 120 F-35. F-35 lacks the agility of F-22 as a true front-line fighter. They are looking to produce something equivalent of F-22.

mastan sir great effort.i would say this 270 million should be invested in PAC kamra make some new labs of international standard.fech some talent from abroad and from local universities. in some years we will be flying somethings far more cutting edge.anyway what about UCAVs

Hi,

The thing is that if I want to make you happy---I would say that I agree---. But kamra does not have the ability and manpower to absorb all that technology.

So---to get the best results----you have to do it the way you are proceeding. Major work done in china and a lot of less major work done in pakistan---it is all a matter of time.

Now about your electronics---if you go for vixen---and you have a large order---you can start the assembly work in pakistan for some of the parts.

So---the direction where Kamra is headed is at the right pace---.

Not getting F16 is a blessing in my view. Pakistanis can work well only when they are pushed to limit. I hope and pray that this sanction of F 16 stays so that we may take JF 17 to a whole new level.

Sombody needed to kick the pakistani Air Marshall Sohail Aman in the behind.

Hi,

My understanding is that the 18 was part of that package that were offered to pakistan earlier last year and the paf refused.

This guy Sohail Aman has major issues---he is a very tactless man---he has no strategy and no game plan---.

He is the one who screwed up the F16 purchase---basically he threatened the U S last year----. You never threaten the U S----it does not pay back.

As for the defence minister---i don't know what he meant---he might have just meant that there are pakistani pilots training with the chinese---I do not know.

Nope, he clearly said jets available to PAF and they are mastering them since some time outside Pakistan. You should remember that after OBL raid China assured rapid delivery of 50 Chinese built JF-17s and they are not delivered to Pakistan. China have always provided military equipment in emergency situations and now they are in much better position now, they will not allow IAF dominance over PAF don't worry.

One squadron of J 10 C will cost Pakistan One Billion dollars ie FRIENDSHIP price

Now the International Norms are 15 percent Down Payment

So down payment will be 150 Million dollars and NOT 50 Million as you are infering
Do you have any documents to support this argument ?

Hi,

I remember them saying that there might be production of the JF17's in china as well to fill the gap that the paf has---and that production has not materialized.

100mil for developing lobbies in important countries
100mil for developing a competent diplomatic cadre
100mil for developing MIRV tech

Best use of this money is spending on people specially the affectees in FATA and other regions . On a military perspective invest this in NDU/NUST/UET/GIK on Engineering programs ,give the young graduates to inspire and create . F17 program is in a stage of self sustaining so no need its just the vision we lack with the bird , J10B available on soft loans with payment starting after 5 years of induction .No need money for these projects .Turkey program is a riskier one considering too much Europe involvement personally i will go with Italy for any JV on this ,Chinese J31 programe struggles with funding and lacks ke Electronic technology (PAF also lacks experience of 5th Gen) so money will be waste in these programs .
