This incident though sad displays the double standard that runs through a large number of BD posters here. The man was a smuggler who got a beating(however bad) but was left off by the very same chaps you guys commonly call unconscionable murderers. Got off lightly then, don't you think? This would be standard police practice in rural, remote areas either in BD or India. Unfortunate but common. The man was a self confessed smuggler who broke the law. Not the same as an innocent citizen being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
