Cant call India a banana republic, For all it's faults in corruption , abject poverty and societal ills like caste system.. It's a functioning multi party democracy , A potent regional power, an aspiring economic powerhouse.. It has a very solid central governance, A strong military and little chance of threats to it's sovereignty and territorial integrity
Banana republics are those with weak governance with internal and external threats to it's sovereignty, But saying that India is nothing close to China as a global or economic power, China is many decades ahead of it in every aspect imaginable, So it's really futile and deluded that some Indian posters try to portray other wise or even try to compare the two
Two countries with two systems, Apples and oranges.. I would'nt say one system is better than the other, China has worked wonders for it's citizenry through it's system, India though messy is doing relatively well as well with it's but will take way much longer to archive it's goals
