Livefist a prominent defence blog has reported that Gripen NG Demo has cleared High altitude trials in Leh today , Gripen NG Demo was the last aircraft to carry out this tests for MMRCA competition , earlier Gripen D had cleared the High altitude trials in Leh , but the Gripen D is not the aircraft that Saab will be offering to India for MMRCA competition so Gripen NG Demo had to redo the trials to be eligible to run for the MMRCA competition , Saab the manufactures of Gripen aircraft’s had taken special permission from Indian Air force to redo the test since Gripen NG Demo was not send to India due to testing of the aircraft by the Swedish air force officials at the same time

if gripen succeded dont know which air crafts have failed hialtitude tests

.
If india selected Gripen NG then i think it is bad for india

because ther LCA MK2 would be better then this bird forsure

India will definitely go for rafale....as it is the root cause of this mmrca project....actually mmrca was started when Indian govt. refused to the demands of IAF to buy more mirages directly without any other vendor participation......so IAF started the process with mirage -2000-5 in focus but it was replaced by rafale......

f-18e/f looses due to restrictions on the AESA radar source code..

F-16 super viper looses due to its continuous supply to Pakistan

Mig-35 is a strong contender but Iaf wants to move ahead of Russia due to its recent problems with INS vikramaditya, mig-29kub spare parts and its late delivery schedule of il-76 aircraft for AWACS.

Euro-fighter being 95 million dollars will be a costly deal when a full stealth plane<t-50>will be costing near about 120-125 million dollars.

Gripen ng is very good plane being able to land on short runways but its similarity with LCA-mk2 will be a hurdle...also Saab has always been a partner of PAF...recent AWACS...

Moreover rafale has the maximum no- of hard points<14>..one of the prime requirement of IAF as mentioned in the RFP.
also France has signed an agreement with india to go beyond buyer seller relationship by offering the full source code as well as full TOT along with the partial ram coating sources.....

No gripen please... Age of single engine fighter is over... Pakistan also might have J 11 soon.. We should keep up with them... It will be grossly stupid if we go for gripen or mig 35

other was rafale...
many sources say it was mig-35 but the claim was rejected in the latter posts which quoted an indian official saying that mig-35 failed the cold start 3 times...nearly eliminating it from the competition...but these claims were then again rejected by army officials saying it is not so and mig-35 is still in the race but denied to tell the name of the two successful fighters

.
Is there any possibility to have two fighters in mmrca procurement list???If not, I feel rafale is a better option..

Rafale is the best Multirole fighter.nt to forgot his 9.5ton payload..
France is a reliable partner.
bt i hope if you reject france and get the eurofighter or mig 35
then i am sure to PAF will select rafale in future in the response to MKI and MMRCA fighter

Rafale was asked to provide a clarification for the reports that it was also trying to lure pakistan in april2008...but rafale rejected the reports saying yes it was asked for information from PAF but the process never went ahead of information....also france recently signed the Mou that clearly stated that if india opts for rafale.....pakistan wont be ginen access to it....<beyond buyer seller relationship>

nt only Information bt PAF pilot wENT TO france.

bt we selected J-10 BECAUSE of lack of defence budget only about 5 Bn and now defence budget is 9.5bn and is expected to increase to 12bn..and j-10B deal is nt yet signed
so if you donot select then i am sure PAF will go for rafale..and they will provide us the jf-17 upgradtion which will make jf-17 a deadly aircaft in its class

A mix of rafale and grippen NG would be economical and has some political gains attached to it for INDIA.
