From what I understand, that's already in progress, but the focus is the Afghan-Pakistan border first because that is where the greatest threat comes from.

There is a difference between Afghanistan and iran. There is no central control over Afghanistan. Ghani n co are ouooetsof US and india, what do u expect from them. also see the influence Pakistan have in Afghanistan. Iran on the other hand has a powerful government controlling everything. Isnt iran India ally? See the extent of their relationship.
What should Pakistan do? For starters, address the elephant in the room, be open about it, foreign office should be straight.
