But the question is: What has the lone super duper power achieved in Afghanistan after 10 long years of getting screwed out there? Almost nothing, except make more enemies! It'll be back to square one by 2014 when most of them leave. I wonder what the 5000 odd American soldiers are going to do there after that? They would need to leave an expeditionary force of about 50,000 troops to be permanently stationed there if they don't want Afghanistan to go back to Taliban rule.

To take a country for ten years and 1668 casualties is quite a military achievment. Bulgaria, being on the losing side of every conflict in recent memory couldn't understand this.

I include being part of the Warsaw pact. And the various Balkans wars(pre-WWI AND WWI, not the greatest record)
Iraq was a smashing victory, as was and is Afghanistan. The US education system is the envy of the world (don't see foriegners lining up for visas to Bulgarian schools) You did know there were Balkans wars pre-WWI, right?)
