First Mi-35 and Now $ 900 M Aid? Would it be too much to Swallow?

This has nothing to do with ego, but with keeping our independence. Only Indian authorities decide what happens with money spent by the GoI and the State governments, not some foreign governments. Besides, we have enough money to solve many problems our country,

what about poverty?

Having some financial power alone does not solve such problems. Stay with China, when they had a similar sized economy like India`s current one, they used their financial resources in a smart way, they invested in infrastructure, reduced bureaucracy and corruption, invested in R&D, attracted investors etc etc etc...

And what did the past GoI do billions and billions of USD`s? They put insane sums of money into socialist schemes like the food security bill, subsidies and other freebies to get voters and give many poor people short term help.
Furthermore, it was partly responsible for scams which account for billions of USD´s and did close to nothing to eradicate bureaucracy and corruption.

And in the meantime, investors fled the country, our business men had the usual problems to get through the red tape, the infrastructure did make some progress but it was way less than it should have been and many projects came to a halt due to bureaucratic and financial troubles etc etc etc etc which brought the economy to its current state.

But luckily, the new government is not going to commit the same mistakes.

its a fact of life and the society. people help each other . no one is all resourceful.
I remember standing in the town center collecting aid for Indian Tsunami and earthquakes few years back. and remember the Somalian pirates saga? we paid for the Indian hostages as well. @Koovie @jaunty these are just few pointers which show that anyone can need help and when your own state fails you just out of incompetence or sheer level of challenge at hand... then others come to help you.

with Russia coming closer to us and China getting closer to you guys.. there is a potential for mutual cooperation some time in future if not now. the fuckers are mistaken who think that they can sleep in peace and safety forever after soaking the entire world in this fanatical madness . all we needed was a balancing super power which is not blackmailed by the oil producing middle east.. the tide will turn and they will drown in their own blood .. and oil.

You are sounding really ignorant man. The discussion is around a billion USD of aid to Pakistan which has a direct linkage with the GDP of Pakistan.

im not sure if i get what you mean. what could happen to pakistan thats so bad after this operation?

Not saying something bad will happen, but all such operations have financial costs attached to them in terms of cost of deployment of army, use of material and the huge cost of managing IDPs and their rehabilitation after the operation.
