u got it wrong.....what u have quoted is lucknow district population....nt the lucknow city. population.....city is never as big as district....in district there may be more town and villages....
metro is for the city ...it will move the passenger within the city....not in whole district....
same is in case of kanpur, patna and other ..they have same district name as well as city name..but they both are different things....

kanpur is a gutter city, first clean it then get metro.

Half of Kanpur need to be razed to the ground and rebuilt, this city is worst planned with worst infra and half of it is basically a concrete slum. No doubt Knapur need metro more than Lucknow but not before the city is rebuilt and its dead industries are revived.

Calm down bhaiyye, everyone is entitled to an opinion. I dont want my tax money to go into funding useless projects for undeserving people. Better to build metro in South Indian states, atleast people there are more civilized
