Is it me, or are these already the tanker versions? Designation "KC-...", external fuel tanks on the wings, not sure it the probe pods are also installed, the pic is too close to see it, but they could be added later too. So the first 6 already for special ops and refuelling?

If it gets the prob pods it can refuel all kinds of aircrafts, including helicopters, the question is, are these already meant for refuelling too, or are these external tanks only for longer range? The designation confused me.

KC is the Indian Air Force serial for C-130J.

KC is usually the aircraft designation for US Tankers which does not apply to IAF.

US has aircrafts like KC-10,KC-130,KC-135 etc which are air refuel planes.

The Aircraft is C-130J and not KC-130. It is not a refueller but J version of C-130.

As mentioned KC is the serial designated by IAF for its C-130J.
