First Block 2 JF-17s under construction in Pakistan

The only thing disturbing is the past PAF tall claims. HMDS, no where to be found. IRST, no where to be mentioned. Datalink, God knows when it will be integrated.
ugh man this sucks.....

These countries are showing interest only "NOW" when Block-2 came. One reason. It can fire SD-10 A, ASCM and some PGM's.
Well Sir I've always been sceptical of their marketing strategy, actually everybody is. JF seems to be the LOW END of our fleet, disappointed a bit I must say.

Oooh I hate this kaam chalao fitting :pissed: ... Least show some aesthetic sense :hitwall:

As a result, the Block 2s can add the Chinese-designed C-802 anti-ship missile and SD-10A beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile to the Block 1s' existing armoury, which includes Mk 82/84 dumb bombs and the PL-5-EII short-range air-to-air missile. All the Block 1s will eventually be upgraded with the Block 2 improvements.

With an urgent need to export JF-17s, a two-seater will be built in the Block 2 time frame. The PAF had always said that a two-seater is not urgent, but Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt now admits that a dual seater is a necessity. "We realise that it is required, because the air forces interested in buying JF-17 want one," he said.

PAF pilots currently converting to JF-17 are accumulating around 25 hours on a JF-17 simulator operational at Kamra, where one of the two operational squadrons is based. Nearly all the Block 1s have now been delivered to the PAF, which has a current requirement for 150 to replace the ageing F-7P and Mirage III/Vs.

It seem secrets are out... jf 17 is not BVR capable.
What makes you jump to this conclusion or you here to just have a dose of your troll !!!

Once again its funds that make problem in production & procurement, if PAF had funds we may have seen Vixen 1000 AESA and other goodies in Block-1.

At the moment it does not but in 3-4 years the whole fleet will be upgraded to BVR capability.
Its not their because even SD-10B was not ready and subject to availability and now it is available and tested with platform so all we need is software upgrade to integrate and viola there you go don't even think to come near to me :guns:

One of think tank had spoken the same thing.
Koi nai beta dil chota na kerain kubhi kubhi baron say dant bhi kha laitay hain ... mmmuuuaaahh lay chummi lay li ab naraz na hoien :-)

But as @Abingdonboy rightly pointed out F-22 will be the top end of USAF,piloted only by the top end pilots, with several hours of experience in other platforms. Thats won't be the case with PAF. A trainer version of Thunder will be needed.

That user made a wrong comparison and has wrong/incorrect views about both things

While i can agree with most part of your post, the highlighted one is that troubles me,
First, i do not see how an attack on Kamra SLOWED the production of JF-17, The JF-17 production facility was not effected.
Secondly, you mention that after the attack PAF had to divert money to make up for the lost ERIEYE, that again is not the case as PAF have not inducted any new Airborne Early Warning System as compensation of the lost assets.
WHAT? Lost ERIEYE?
since when did we lost an ERIEYE aircraft?
It was the P3C Orion that was lost in mehraan base attack.
No aircraft was demaged in Kamra attack. Infact Kamra attack was a Failed attempt and successfully fended off by security forces and no significant loss occured.
You guys are mixing mehran base incidence with kamra attack

Anything about Hardpoints or atleast introduction of dual racks??

As a result, the Block 2s can add the Chinese-designed C-802 anti-ship missile and SD-10A beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile to the Block 1s' existing armoury, which includes Mk 82/84 dumb bombs and the PL-5-EII short-range air-to-air missile. So block 2 can be BVRAAM, ASHM capable, which will be clear in coming years.
