Fighting hopelessness: Panama Case, JIT and the confusions

That too is not a solution. Revolutions are thing of the past. With the world being a global village and vested interests of other nations, things are exploited way too quickly and it will always turn out the same way as that Arab Spring. Surely that didn't brought anything good for anyone. Any unrest in Pakistan will be exploited within matter of hours by other countries and we will be at a loss.

The best way remains to engage the public but via the medium that they are SUPPOSED to be engaged. Reforms there, struggle at the top level, spreading awareness, all these things and more are required, simultaneously, to get things right.

Didn't mean revolution.

Things are at tipping point with all the internal and external factors added. Pakistan is at such a juncture now that strong honest civilian leadership is a critical requirement. Something will give ... Establishment can't afford to drag a suicidal NS along for much longer.

No decision made on this as yet. Hussain Nawaz appeared before JIT yesterday. Just to actually highlight the importance of this sentence, the SON of the ruling Prime Minister of our country was made to sit in front of a bench investigating his properties and wealth and have to answer them and provide them with proof (not a Qatri letter) that the wealth is all legal. The PM and his family are made to answer the law!! It is a historic day and i just pray that this turns out to be the beginning of a bright future!

True... JIT is moving in the right direction ...however we have to wait and see Advocate anr raita judge 's conduct today ke woh kia kartay hain? And also whether they allow H Nawaz to take help of his lawyer during JIT proceedings?

Hussain Nawaz interrogated for over five hours by JIT formed under Supreme Court of Pakistan. The JIT is probing the illegal wealth and properties of Nawaz Shairf and his family. Hussain Nawaz was given 48 hours time on Sunday to come with all the answers to the questions asked by JIT and he appeared before the panel today where he was reportedly asked question for over 5 hours.

It is also reported that during the session Hussain Nawaz was given medical aid since his blood sugar level dropped.

Setting a new precedent, the Supreme Court is probing the wealth of perhaps the strongest family of Pakistan and have made the son of on service Prime Minister to appear before a team formed by the court to investigate the matter further. It is important to note that the Investigation team was formed on request of three members of a Supreme Court Panel that was originally hearing the Panama Case. Two of the five judges declared Nawaz Sharif dishonest and not fit for the seat he hold while three other members asked for the matters to be investigated further by a Joint Investigation Team formed by the members from different institutions of Pakistan.

And specially these judges!!
It is more than often that people question their resolve and determination, even honest some times. I hope this will be reassuring. The SC panel was really pissed at that misfiring stunt of PMLN, named Nihal Hashmi.

REALLY HAPPY WITH THIS DEVELOPMENT.

and the best part is, the PMLN supporters dont even have that "army sabotaged democrasy" excuse this time. It is the COURT that is doing the right things here. GREAT. I hope and pray that this trend continues and may Allah give these men courage and resolve to do the right thing, Ameen.

Here is what the SC has to say on the matter:

"It seems that the government's self-proclaimed spokespersons let no opportunity for maligning the courts slip by," Justice Ejaz Afzal.

"We have faced military dictatorships, but even they did not dare threaten our children," Justice Ejaz Afzal.
"Our children are being threatened under your government,"

"We constituted the joint investigation team (JIT) and we are not afraid of any type of consequences," Justice Ejaz Afzal.

"It is not our custom to bring our children into our fights," Justice Sheikh Azmat, referring to the senator Nihal Hashmi's threats. "Mr Attorney General, what kind of people involve children in their fights?" he asked.
"The cowardly kind," offered AG Ashtar Ausaf.
"No, not cowards — it is terrorists and the mafia who do such things," responded Justice Azmat.
"Congratulations Mr Attorney General: it seems that your government has joined the Sicilian Mafia," he added wryly.

"You stayed quiet for two days after Hashmi's speech and then sprung into action [once it made headlines] fearing the Supreme Court's retribution," Justice Azmat.

"We were the ones who issued instructions to the Supreme Court registrar," said Justice Ejaz Afzal, responding to a widely-circulated rumour that the heads of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and the State Bank were 'pressured' by a caller who identified himself as the Supreme Court registrar into submitting the names of two JIT members. The ones who have repeatedly been accused of bias by Sharif family.
"We know who's capable and who can deliver results," things are being blown out of proportion to present a misleading view of the process.

"Strict action will be taken against whoever mocks the judiciary," Justice Ejaz Afzal.

"We are not going to remove any JIT member on mere conjecture unless something concrete comes up because the prime minister is the one being investigated," Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan

I am so so destroyed by an incident that happened day before yesterday, very much related to this same problem, i feel like killing a few people involved right now. A man lost his life due to these haram khoor BC MCs. A person i know is dead and it is this Nawaz Family i have to blame for the murder, it is there "nawazishain" on the absolute scum of the earth people that brought this day upon us. Heart broken on this.
