Fifth Of India's Underwater Fleet Out Of Action

looks like the technician in dark had set fire to the torpedo mistaking it for a gas lamp

1.India has a compulsive urge to try and upgrade everything, including redundant eqpt, in an effort to boast this to be Indian. And in the process completely bug--r the eqpt.

2. In is the weakest link in India's defense set up because of professional incompetence, indiscipline and endemic corruption.

THEEK HAI...........:D:D

China just took the Blue prints of America's rise and has been applying it to their own nation. Nothing wrong with it. Their focus on factory mass production and building of cities/roads/transportation networks...is classic 1950's American build up. The mass production capability greatly aids their weapons production development. They are on track to be a future threat.

Keep buying Russian crap.....India wake up

Your whole understanding is flawed, the chinese navy is much larger ofcourse but we laugh because it has no power projection capability in the IOR.All those huge numbers of subs can't operate so far from their home bases except a handful noisy nuke subs which even our diesel fleet outnumbers.
We have carriers and much more exp at that. And our surface ships are every bit as capable. We also have more naval warfare experience and do more exrecises.Neither is our command hindered by political commisars.
Any chinese task force entering IOR,will be attacked from our unsinkable carrier at andaman with sukhois and p-8is from the air raining hell.Subs from underneath and surface ships as well.
We laugh at the comparison because u fools always make paper comparsions rather than consider the actual realistic scenario that involves geography.Without taking geography into account the paper figures are meaningless.
they have 12 nuclear subs
plus many of their missle guided destroyers can engage indian navy

wow guru dutt is banned??? but not those BD troll... who always troll against India.... great....

Didn't you see Pakistani and Chinese members celebrating death in INS Sindhurakshak thread? Was any action taken?

No!!

Same with many other troll post-One can continue to troll in any thread related to India, bring rape and poverty to every discussion, make racist remarks and use abusive language since this is :pdf:

Only 7 are SSNs,rest are SSBN's not for attack role. Now even among these 7, 3 are very old han class 1st gen, which are extremely noisy and have experienced major reactor problems, also they have serviceability issues.
Only the 4 shang class are of any real threat value, they are generally regarded as equivalent to the old soviet victor 3class in acoustic signature.
Considering we already have one improved akula 2[akula was follow up of victor 3,and improved akula 2 is follow up of that]and likely to get another, plus our diesel sub fleet these 4 nuke subs which are still quite noisy are not a headache for us.

As for missile destroyers, they would be facing IN carrier battlegroups and surface fleet, plus constant relentless air attacks by P-8I and su-30s from the air launched from andman, and from below our much quieter diesel subs launching salvo after salvo of klubs, brahmos, harpoons, exocets from all three dimensions plus torpedoes.Considering that china has minimal exp in ASW and minimal naval combat experience.and the fact that the navy has been a neglected service till the 2000s,we have not much to worry about.

Of the 10 Kilo class submarines, two are currently undergoing a refit that could stretch over years. The INS Sindhukirti has been undergoing a refit at the Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) since 2003, with many in the Navy giving up hope that it will ever sail again. The newest of the Kilo class, the Sindhushastra, too is up for refit at HSL.

just a refit project that has been going on for TEN years and no hope of resailing again?

Sub Fire A Major Setback for Indian Navy

Meanwhile, French-made Scorpene submarines that will be license-produced at Mazagon Docks are nearly 36 months behind schedule and the MoD has yet to float a global tender for the purchase of six conventional submarines with air independent propulsion technology. This project was cleared in late 2010 but no decision has been made whether private sector shipyards will be allowed to participate in the $12 billion tender.

Prior to the Sindhurakshak fire, only 50 percent of the 10 kilo-class submarines in the fleet were fully operational, added the Navy official.

Indian Dockyards

Indian Navy dockyards do not have adequate repair facilities for submarines, and major refits of kilo subs have to be done in Russia. The poor repair facilities even hamper day-to-day repairs, said the Navy source.

How can indians build an "indigenous" nuke sub when the facilities are so backward? and often all projects undertaken by any indian shipyards / airplane makers etc cause delay over delay and lots of budget over-run.

No wonder why the 30% complete floating vessel has caused the indians such an official fanfare!

Suck it up chump. Crying won't bring the "Protector of the Seas" back. Neither will whining. It only makes you look weak. As an Indian accept the shortcomings of your navy. Stop dreaming of Blue Water capabilities. Don't blow your trumpet prematurely - a floating 40,000 tonne barge does not qualify as an aircraft carrier. Be patient and pray. Maybe one day France might hand you a working submarine. The Russians clearly played you for fools.

India can't even build a conventional submarine let alone a nuclear one.
