Both the CNG sector and textile industry are to pay Rs80 billion each. During a meeting in the finance ministry, the textile and the fertiliser industries had also demanded to be treated at par with the CNG sector by waiving off 50% outstanding amount.

The GIDC was imposed by the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) government on gas consumers, including fertiliser, captive and CNG to raise funds to execute gas pipeline projects like gas pipelines and the LNG project.

However, the levy become controversial when the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, instead of spending the amount on building pipeline projects, made it part of the budget. Later different sectors approached the court and obtained stay orders.

I just asked the list for the sake of discussion, otherwise I know about the defaulters.

Big defaulters are federal and provincial govts including offices of our armed forces & other govt departments.

So on what basis it is said that Awaam is Chor and Awaam has to pay for the default of Fed, prov govts and offices of armed forces?

It is true that a large percentage of defaulters are government Departments so when ever they will make payments it will by tax payers money.
While i dont agree with the sentiment that awam is chore but it is true that Kunda culture and tampering with meters is done by a lot of people. I myself have complained to the relevant authorities about two such cases and both times the person in question was arrested and fined.

It is awam is chore but it is true that Kunda culture and tampering with meters is done by a lot of people. I myself have complained to the relevant authorities about two such cases and both times the person in question was arrested and fined.

That's the mindset which hurting Pakistan and common people in particular. People will pay high indirect taxes (as they can't avoid it) but will not pay direct tax. That's why at the end this has been only viable option till now to raise revenue. But what happens is that common people pay these indirect taxes but lots of these indirect taxes disappear before reaching to national kitty.

What a daredevil, she crossed a toll road without paying the tolls, Brother tolls are on a yearly contract and how and what to collect is contractors problem not the GOP. If he or she didn't file a complaint about it then its all good.

But for argument's sake had they given her a chase and fined her for the violation, then PML-N supporters will be crying, IK is chasing her for few rupees toll..

strike means no business, no business means no taxes, no taxes means no Ayashi for the elite.

No business means no money, no profits, zero, zilch, nada and if one wants to go out of business just so he or she don't have to pay taxes then more power to them..
