Fatal shooting at a Pakistani Wedding

The man should be arrested and charged with manslaughter. Drinking and driving does not go together, but drinking and weapons is just insane.

Anyway, this whole firing culture has a psychological impact on the enemy. When they see large groups of men firing thousands of rounds into the air they will be thinking "man they do this for fun, what happens when they are serious"? They know that millions upon millions of men will take up arms side by side with their forces in the event of a nationwide attack.
Being armed and ready sends a message, being unarmed sends another message i.e. you are ripe for the picking. In actual fact we have people in Pakistan right now, from the ultra liberal side (I'm not referring to anyone on this thread) who wouldn't batter an eye lid if the enemy occupied the land and did all sorts.

Anyway, we've seen plenty of our Pashtun, Baluch, Punjabi and Sindi cousins firing. Here is my lot from AJK.

A bit subdued this one lol. Please also notice the lush green mountains. I can tell you how many times I have met army soldiers just sitting in the valleys and watching the day go by and telling me how beautiful it all is, and how much they love the people of AJK.

Education would help these people a lot , not quantity of education but quality. Firearms are treated like a joke except for those serving in forces or very few gun enthusiasts who know how to handle them responsibly. The again those drinking wine should be brought to justice .

There is dumb firing and usefull firing

With he useful one you will hit your enemies, but with the dumb one...

This is not India noob. In Pakistan we have hard life and anything goes.

Most of the Pakistanis you meet on forums are not from rural background. Firing is no big deal for a shaadi in Pakistan. Even Army cants don't give a ****.

Life is cheap. One dies here we make more.

Many these firing practices in Pakistan are done in small villages and towns where poeple have narrow and superstitious mindsets when it comes to women. So there have been several instances where the groom got killed by misfires in aerial firing and that earned the poor bride to be a manhoos title and whole load of curses and people refuse to marry her that iski nahoosat ki wajah say shadi say pehlay hee dulha mar gaya.

I dont have issues with weapons but ihave issues with aerial firing without any reason and mainly on events like weddings where there a history of such deaths.

Plus those who organize mujras on shadis and do firing they pretty much show what "ACTUAL" men they are.

Mujra and havai firing needs to be banned forever idc if the firing is in a ''controlled'' atmosphere or not

Waz bhai you know apart from the fact that firing in the sir is prohibited in Pakistan but also they all firing full auto weapons which is also banned to own and fire and punishable up to 10 years in jails despite if you have license.
Pakistan long back stop issuing full auto weapons license to civilians.

LoL

Why? You guys in the cities are scared of hearing a gunshot? You want to be like Indians. Haha. Fat chance. I give my utmost respect to our country, but If anyone comes to try and take our guns. We will return them empty handed. New generation of Pakistanis are pussies and very scared people. It's weird to read these types of things. Regardless of your position, we will not give up our weapons. Punjabis were fooled by this once before partition, and we got slaughtered. I'm not sure about you nooni goonies, but Arains will not give up any weapons. This time we will be prepared whether we have to defend Pakistan, or ourselves. Cheers!

Why is there always incidents in majority of weddings ?
Every wedding I attend had some of the mishaps nd such little or big incidents .

government should sell Blanks, open stores or something ... at least this way they wont kill somebody and use firing in weddings...

This would make sense if we lived in the 15th century. I don't think a drone would care much whether I'm firing in the air like a madman or taking a leak in the bush. The Afghans pretty much defined the gun culture in Asia in the last 50 years and yet that didn't save them from being attacked by both the Soviets and the Americans later (the result of course of these wars is debatable). The Arabs danced with swords and that didn't save them from each other or the Americans in the 90's and early 2000's. And even if this type of psychological warfare did work what sense does it make to do this at weddings that too in peaceful times that too at the cost of hundreds of injuries and deaths of Pakistanis every year. As to that last statement I'm yet to come across an "ultra liberal" and it makes very little sense as to why anyone would celebrate that aerial firing of some occupant (looks like you did a bit of a hawai fire here :))

The 15th century? Right, the wheel lock was invented then, hardly a comparison with automatic weapons. Yes there are drones but they don't hold ground, men with weapons do. The US thought a quick air campaign would break the Taliban and the movement would sue for peace, they didn't, and now they operate with impunity and control large tracts of land. Even the allies during the Second World War with an air superiority of many thousands to one needed troops to push on and win the war.
As for the Afghans they turned the guns on each other after victory, Pakistanis do not, bar Bangladesh which had significant Indian involvement, and do remember the outcome of the Soviet war and I've already referred to the current war above. Do you honestly think that hadn't the Afghans not been an armed and warlike population they would have driven the Soviets out? Yes they had help, but they did much of the fighting and the place was awash with weapons. With the Arabs I assume you are talking about Iraq? Have you ever spoken to American servicemen? I have, and they told me that the Sunni "triangle" was a living hell. At one point they were losing 100 men a month, and the US lost 4,424 personal and 31,952 were wounded. This was just from a small part of the population around 15-20% as the Shia (bar Al-Sadr) refused to fight and the Kurds had already allied themselves with the US forces. Sure it didn't change the outcome but it hastened the withdrawal.
I'm not sure what you're getting at with the rest of the Arab states, Syria is an inter-Arab war, and the rest are at peace.
Of course I agree that unsafe firing is stupidity and people should be arrested for it. If it's safe then there is no issue. Oh and I have come across an "ultra" everything, facist, liberal, religious etc.
The bottom line is a large population with guns in their hands scares an invader, you only need to look at history to see what happened when a population was disarmed, be it Iraq during the Mongol conquest or at your very own doorstep when Hyderabad was taken by the Indian army during partition and the Muslims were disarmed, mass rape and murder followed.
