Famine spread in North Korea, 20K dead in single province this year

What are you talking about? Canada -- as our 52nd state -- is quite different from the other 51 states. And we like you guys just fine.

51? There are only 50 US states. Sorry, but the South Vietnamese client state was extinguished and absorbed into Vietnam. In fact, it happened quite a long time ago.

Anyway, Korean's proposal is typically inhumane of him, but it's to be expected given that he's a Taiwanese false-flagger and feels no blood ties to the North Korean people. North Korea was in a state of perpetual famine in the 90s, and there were no revolts. The new leader seems to be moving in the direction of economic reform. This is really the only plausible hope.

The 'Ricans voted to remain a US protectorate instead of full independence. Look it up. Might as well call Puerto Rico our 51st state. As for Canada...Buddy...When I was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford back in the 80s, even the Brits joked that Canada is American state. What an eye opener that was for me...

.
That's an interesting but fringe interpretation. There's a reason there's a 'Puerto Rico statehood movement" (as well as an independence one) - it's because they're not a state.

The Brits you were talking about were probably smarting over the 1982 Canadian Repatriation case. The Brits are still pretty nostalgic about their imperialism. The ones at Oxford are pretty level-headed, but talking to the plebeians outside the ivory tower reveal a lot of them are still quite jingoistic. Only instead of vowing to retain India, they're talking about vowing to retain the Falklands. Lol.

I wouldn't mind US annexation of Canada though. It would recalibrate US politics, away from the far-right direction it's currently in.

I put the blames solely on the sanctions by Uncle Sam all these years.

Then why is Cuba which is under US sanctions for the last 40+ years has one of the highest life expectancies and its health care is considered even better than US. Answer is simple ......Castro is not a nutcase like the Kims. US sanctions is not an excuse for not being self reliant in agriculture.

.
Korea isn't China; government has no control over the flow of information and people are too well-educated to fall for any government propaganda.

Really? It is forbidden to say good things about Korea on-line in South Korea and even got prison and fined.

If South Korea were not afraid of 'free information' why would the government force to push the internet identification policy?

US as a country can sanction whoever they want.It has no bearing on how the sanctioned country progresses. As I said earlier US sanctions is not an excuse for a country not to become self reliant in feeding its people. If NK can build rockets and misslies, I think they have enough technology to cultivate rice in a sustainable manner. If Israel, KSA etc can grow crops in desert, whats stopping NK.

The people in Cuba is not doing as well as people think. Despite her high per capita the people in Cuba only average about $20 a month paid by the government because she spends more than 10%/GDP on defense. Up to the mid 80s Cuba was heavily subsidized by the Soviet and she also developed her tourism industries where people come Canada and EU despite the sanctions. Recent years she also received helps and trades with many Latin countries especially from Venezuela who don't care what the US say.

Except some food shipments from China and minimal helps from Russia where else she receives helps? Her long harsh winter also limited her food productions.

I'm not saying NK leaderships are innocent but their guilt is not they don't want to feed their people; they simply don't have the wherewithal. Their guilt lie on the fact they don't want to open up their economies when they see the obvious successes of China. Even though they would not achieved the same result as China because of the sanctions by the US, but at least it will bring enough food for the populace.

Without the US sanctions I'm sure many countries would have commercial dealings with her.

BTW When a country is threaten with demise everyday and with 37,000 troops and many more from SK station across the border, she would think defending her survivals supersede everything else. Good night.

you are wasting your time, you can educate a slave, he will just be an educated slaved thats it & full stop, one can never make a slave shed his slave mentality he can't even make his mind or take a stand on a simple thing about a country which he cant even locate on the map & you expect him to understand the above? lol

Cuba can become the Japan of the Americas. It has immense potential.

Arirang News

This news is quite troubling because the said province is a primary source of rice in North Korea. If the residents living in the rice field starve to death, the imagine what the situation is like elsewhere.

That deranged fat maniac who's taken power recently will tell you... by his size and the size of his generals.

While the loss is terrible, the sanctions must be doubled up in order to trigger a popular revolt against Kim's regime.

Come on man. How can NK folks revolt? The Fat Kims won't mind killing 2-3 million with artillery and tanks if it is needed to preserve Korean regime. No common NKorean is armed, they don't even eat properly if they're not in the military, they have social police around and the Army has unprecedented power to kill as many as they please.

The only way you can do something about that hell is to invade it. And be sure; China will never fight like 1953. Only the CCP agents here on this forum would.
