Egypt does not have deep pockets----the Rafales were helped paid by the saudis---.

First of all---F16's for Egypt---they don't get BVR missiles----. Basically---they are useless---( in a manner of speaking )---plus their electronics will be compromised by the israelis.

Rafale---they can only afford in X numbers-----.

The induction of Rafale fills the hole for an aircraft like a Mig29---SU30---F15 SE---Eurofighter-----.

They need to fill the the hole with a large number of single engine aircraft-----. An aircraft which has an AESA and BVR and off bore sight missile launch capability----with anti ship missiles---like the C802 and then the CM400AKG

firstly i know its a curtacy thing but dont call me sir, if you want call me, bm.

the french provided a loan to the eygptions to that they can buy french equipment that included the frigate too.

i know the f16's are useless, and the fof see's israel as friend, did you know that!?
the rafale and the mirage are bvraam and the mig 29 is also bvraam too the fc1 is quiet nifty, i admit. as i said before if eygpt wants it its best inducted in many numbers. if you read my previous posts thats wil explain why.

India does benefit from JF-17 exports in that it does drive the price of all combat aircraft down.

It is certainly an encouraging development that Egypt is showing interest in JF-17. Will it lead to a sale or just an inquiry, only time will tell. If it leads to a sale then one thing is for sure. Pakistan will never embargo spare parts. Besides if it helps Egypt develop their aircraft industry, then it is a win win situation for both countries.

Not really. Do you have an outlay of the Egyptian economy to give weight to that message?
They have a pretty large fleet of Mirages and Mig-21 variants that they cannot all replace with F-16s or Mig-29s.
Moreover, the Mig and the JF-17 share the same engine more or less.

RAWALPINDI: Egypt is interested in purchase of JF-17 Thunder aircraft, Egyptian Ambassador to Pakistan Sherif Shaheen told Federal Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain during a meeting here on Friday.

The minister informed the ambassador that Pakistan was at present selling its traditional weapons to US, UK, Germany and some Far Eastern countries.

He offered the sale of JF-17 Thunder and Super Mashak to Egypt and said Iraq had already signed an agreement with Pakistan for the purchase of 20 Super Mashak while a deal with Turkey for the sale of 52 Super Mashak had almost been finalised.

Rana Tanveer emphasised the need for joint venture in defence production between the two countries.

Ambassador Shaheen said Egypt was looking for collaboration with Pakistan in the defence industry.

A defence delegation from Egypt would visit defence production facilities in Pakistan to look into the possibility of buying defence-related products, he added.

The minister invited the distinguished guest to visit defence production establishments of Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: Egypt has expressed interest in acquiring Pakistan's multi-role JF-17 Thunder fighter jets, which the country has manufactured in collaboration with China.
Pakistan's minister for defence production Rana Tanveer Hussain during a meeting with Egyptian ambassador Sherif Shaheen offered the sale of JF-17 Thunder aircraft and Super Mashak to Egypt.
In the meeting, the Egyptian ambassador told the minister that Egypt is looking for collaboration with Pakistan in the defence industry and is interested in purchasing the JF-17 Thunder aircraft from Pakistan, the Dawn reported.

Its about time our military hardware productions and exports get a boost!
We have the engineers, we have proved our potential time and again!
Tanks , fighter jets, trainer jets, missiles, attack UAVs..... we are everyone in the entry level.
InshaAllah we will only move in forward direction from here on.

It might take some time but its on the horizon.

Plus politics and politicians can corrupt anything and everything but the only thing not in their hands is the military arm. So it keeps on progressing unlike our civil arm which suffers all the time.

The MFI-17 Mushshak (The Proficient) is a light-weight, robust, two/three seats, single engine, predominantly all metal aircraft with tricycle fixed landing gear. It has been developed to meet US FAR 23 certification in categories normal, utility and aerobatics.
