Nopez, arihant means ahimsa, some tibetan monks opposed this nomenclature for the sub.
Arihant nuclear submarine is only for sea trials.

In Sanskrit it literally means destroyer of enemies, but in context of Jainism it means destroyer of inner enemies i.e mastery over base human desires
