Exclusive: US intel shows Saudi Arabia escalated its missile program with help from China

.
Washington(CNN) The US government has obtained intelligence that Saudi Arabia has significantly escalated its ballistic missile program with the help of China, three sources with direct knowledge of the matter said, a development that threatens decades of US efforts to limit missile proliferation in the Middle East.

The Trump administration did not initially disclose its knowledge of this classified development to key members of Congress, the sources said, infuriating Democrats who discovered it outside of regular US government channels and concluded it had been deliberately left out of a series of briefings where they say it should have been presented.

The previously unreported classified intelligence indicates Saudi Arabia has expanded both its missile infrastructure and technology through recent purchases from China.

"This is certainly something that we all need to keep an eye on," Pompeo said, before adding that "most of the folks who are working to build out missile systems" were doing so in direct response to Iran's ability to continue to enhance its missile program under the 2015 nuclear accord.

"Others are doing what they need to do to create a deterrence tool for themselves," Pompeo said. "It's just a fact."

These same Democrats crying over the proliferation of ballistic missile technology in the Middle East are the ones who have allowed Iran to continue its missile program!!

Obviously there aim is to initiate war between Iran and ME

. . .
If Saudis start making weapons then who will support US arms industry, this is a big No No. US must democracise (a made up word) SA.
In his responses, Pompeo made clear the administration's preference that Saudi Arabia buy US technology, a possible nod, multiple US officials said, to internal opposition inside the Trump administration to restrictions on US sales of ballistic missiles to the Kingdom.

"There've been those who've urged the United States to take a different posture with respect to Saudi Arabia, not to sell them technology," Pompeo said. "I think you see the risks that are created. It would be better if the United States was involved in those transactions than if China was."

Saudis have right of missiles development when iran has developed its own missile.I think we can provide them with our missile technology
China is doing that..so Pakistan keeps out of harm's way..

We didn't ask for their permission or approval but as far as I remember it's been a long ago "2007" that you bought Chinese DF-21 by CIA's approval ... and Iran missile program didn't start all the sudden in 2015 nuclear accord out of thin air actually it started against a maniac whom was invading my country and fired more than 500 scuds towards Iranian cities in a war that was bankrolled by you ... so it is not new or about creating deterrence & besides fatty didn't mentioned about your other purchases ... so if you wanna develop missile then go ahead but don't toss Iran in every step you wanna take to justify your policies ...
It's just a fact.

It's just a fact.
You mean 50 Scuds..Then Iran also bought some from Libya and hit Iraq with them..
The fact is.. that war was finished when Iran started developing its missile program in the 90s..

The other fact is:

Under the 2010 United Nations Security Council Resolution 1929 Iran is prohibited from undertaking "any activity related to ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using ballistic missile technology".[1] After the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action was signed in July 2015, there have been a series of missile tests performed by Iran:
  • On 10 October 2015, Iran tested precised Emad missile that has a declared range of 1700 km and a new precision guidance system[2]
  • On 21 November 2015, Iran reportedly carried out a test of the Ghadr 110, having a range variously reported between 1500 and 2000 km.[3]
  • On 8 and 9 March 2016, Iran test fired several missiles, including the Qiam 1.
  • On 29 January 2017, Iran tested the medium-range Khorramshahr ballistic missile that flew 600 miles before exploding, in a failed test of a reentry vehicle.[4]
  • On 23 September 2017, Iran tested another ballistic missile after showing it off at a military parade in Tehran.[5]
  • During January 2018, six live Qiam missiles were fired into an ISIS stronghold in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province in.[6]
  • Between February and August 2018, Iran conducted seven test flights: one Khorramshahr, two Shahab-3 variants, one Qiam and three Zolfaghar ballistic missiles. According to the president of the U.N. Security Council, was “in violation of resolution 2231” because the missiles were all category I systems under the Missile Technology Control Regime and capable of carrying nuclear warheads.[7]
  • In August 2018, Iran’s defense ministry unveiled two new missiles: the Fakour and the “Fateh Mobin” (Bright Conqueror), the latest addition to the Fateh-series of short-range tactical ballistic missiles with a range of about 1,300 kilometers (810 miles).[8]
  • On Dec. 1, 2018, the Khorramshahr medium-range ballistic missile was tested at its facility near Shahrud, in northeast Iran.[9][10]
  • On Feb. 2, 2019, Tehran announced the successful test of the Hoveizeh cruise missile with a range of more than 1,350 kilometers (838 miles) during celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.[11]
  • On Feb. 7, 2019, the Dezful ballistic missile was unveiled, with a range of 1,000 kilometers (600 miles). Iran’s Press TV quoted Hajizadeh as saying the Revolutionary Guards will “continue missile tests … and plan to carry out more than 50 missile tests each year.”[12][13]

Nope its of new type. Engineers of China and Pakistan and some disclosed have been seen. They made some large labs. Some classified places are even forbidden for their own locals to visit. My father says that it had taken much more speed in last 3 years.
