This may be a silly question - but did the escort change due to range issues? Because the JF17s couldn't stay with MBSs plane for the whole journey?

The escort most certainly started once MBS's B787 entered Pakistan's Airspace.

Now, MBS's Dreamliner was not flying over Iranian Airspace, so they must have taken the Arabian Sea route.

I think the question should be if he had an escort of KSAAF all the way through to Pakistan. It would require some synchronizing...

Well, with my first airline in Pakistan we used to fly straight from Karachi towards Muscat and then bank right (north) towards the UAE.

However, we my current airline in the UAE, we go (north) into Iran and than we go to different cities in Pakistan.

It all depends on the routes and Flight Plans by the airline.

Right guys, the news i have is that the F-16 Escort joined the V.I.P flight and JF-17 formation after sunset in the dark thus it was impossible to capture the Falcon formation due to the darkness and Block-52D was indeed the camera ship.

I dont think either of the escorts were there for the whole time.JFTs had 3 drop tanks each so they could easily escort 787 to Chaklala.

High Profile People travel all the time.I dont think there was any escort by Saudi AF.Paf ecort was only for giving protocol and not due to some kind of threat.
