On topic the obsession of India with growth rate in comparison to China is worrying.

• The difference between the Chinese nation and other nations in south east Asia is that they are not divided in majority over religion or castes (there are issues but there are a small minority)
• There is a much better law and order situation as compared to other countries in the region
• The people are more educated in general
• there is less low level corruption
• they are happier as a people in general
• the infrastructure and business part of Chinese development was more important then military posturing
• well thought of and planned expansion rather then pandering to local populations to please for votes
• controlled media lets people concentrate on day to day activities
