Brussels - The European Union (EU) has denounced the execution of Muhammad Afzal Guru by the Indian government. EU’s Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton in a statement reiterated the bloc’s firm opposition to the death penalty irrespective of the seriousness of the crimes committed by the convicted prisoners.

She said “While recognising that terrible murders were committed at the heart of this case and aware of the suffering of the victims and their families, the EU reiterates its principled opposition to the death penalty under all circumstances.”

So what's your point? Trying to score brownie points? Don't you understand that the death penalty has been abolished in the EU? Not in India and Pakistan? You guys will get the same response from the EU if and when you hang Sarabjeet Singh who has been on death row for years, which itself amounts to a gross human rights violation.

And has the EU raised its voice when a guy was put to death recently in the U.S by lethal injection? If not why not? Because it happened in America who cares a sh!t about what the EU thinks, and they know it. So they chose to just shut up.

So my friend, your plan of making this thread into an India-bashing one, won't work. You guys are in the same boat.
