The United States plans to cut its troop levels in Afghanistan to "a number less than 5,000" by the end of November, Defense Secretary Mark Esper said in an interview broadcast on Saturday, adding detail to drawdown plans U.S. President Donald Trump announced earlier this week.

The United States currently has about 8,600 troops in Afghanistan. Trump said in an interview released Monday by Axios that the United States planned to lower that number to about 4,000.

The US dropped more bombs on Afghanistan in 2019 than any other year since the Pentagon began keeping a tally in 2006, reflecting an apparent effort to force concessions from the Taliban at the negotiating table.

As long as, there is a single US soldier stationed in Afghanistan, forget about any regional peace in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Our national security will be always at risk and at the will of Americans. Anytime they will be rolling in some $$$$$$ to the likes of PTM, TTP, BLA, etc., and make us give up on our interests.
