SHAURYA is a real thing while surya is made up by the fanboys..

Thats true again, I know last 3 Scorpenes will come with AIP. U214 will be very good choice...
This report being a good report has some data wrong too. Thats why I brought it here to vet it..

Shaurya is not hypothetical name, its very much exixtant as a programe which has gone through tests too, Its a hypersonic cruise missile to be launched from silos and subs.

however Surya is hypothetical for the time being..

This is what that has surprized me, anyway it doesnt sound correct. You know when two sources confirming its sold to India (one is this report and other this news), it completely blew off my mind....

Saurya has been tested just few months back which DRDO claimed to be a hybrid of ballistic and Cruise Missile.

Surya is said to be an ICBM, (perhaps Agni-V), but GoI never said anything about it officially.

Only 6 Scorpene are to be built. For 6 more submarines RFI has been floated.

US clears Hawkeye E-2D aircraft for India- Hindustan Times

but a later date news from aviation week reports that in August, 2009 it was only approved by the US govt for selling the system to India..... it is yet to be signed

"For near-term patrol and force-projection needs, India is evaluating the Northrop Grumman E-2D Advanced Hawkeye. Discussions are underway following export authorization in August by the U.S. government to Northrop Grumman covering the latest version of the E-2."

Shourya is very much real. Here it is....

Shourya is two stage solid propellant missile. It can carry 1000 kg warhead upto 750 km away. Its developed exclusively keeping second strike and anti-BMD capabilities. According to DRDO, the Shaurya is not a ballistic missile, as it has been thought to be; it is actually a hypersonic cruise missile, which never leaves the atmosphere. The Shaurya can strike within 20-30 metres of its target after traveling 750 km.
