Erdogan asks Nato allies: Are you siding with terrorists?

The real reason, why Turkey has invaded Syrian territory, is that she wants to create a buffer zone between the Syrian Kurds and the Turkish Kurds.

“Because the Turkish government fear Kurd dominated forces in Syria will link up with Kurdish rebels in Turkey, who have been fighting for a breakaway state for decades.

The long-persecuted Kurdish people live in mountainous regions stretching across northern Turkey, Syria and Iraq. And they want their own homeland.”

Due to the 2003 toppling of Iraqi tyrant Saddam Hussein, and the ongoing campaign against the regime of Syrian dictator Bashir al-Assad, the Kurds have been able to gain a degree of self-government in those war-torn countries.

But the Turkish hard-line President Recep Tayyip Erdogan fears Kurdish forces in Syria, will link up with their brethren in his country”.

There are up to 15-million Kurds in Turkey, quite a few of them are dissatisfied because:

“For many decades the Kurdish language was ignored and banned from public use and Turkish became the lingua franca for all citizens to speak. This way, the Turkish state sought to create a nation-state based on one language and attempted to eliminate the use of other languages, particularly Kurdish, through severe regulations and prohibitions. Firstly, this thesis traces the language planning policies in the 20th century which resulted in the invisibilization and denial of Kurdish through an attempted linguicide. Through decade long oppressions which resulted in mass killings, arrests, re-location of Kurds, monopolization of education in Turkish and eventually the legal ban on Kurdish in print and media raise questions about the survival of the language in the long run. Secondly, this thesis discusses the revitalization processes that have occurred in educational and political life since 2003 for the use of Kurdish. To some extent, the survival of Kurdish still remains in doubt, despite the re-introduction of Kurdish in schools and universities since 2010.”

Tayyap Erdogan is using the pretext that he fears an increase in terrorist attacks in Turkey because of Syrian Turks and wants to create a buffer zone.

No country has a right to invade her neighbor on this pretext. Regrettably, Israel started this blatant infringement of the sovereignty of Lebanon with the backing of the US. I am afraid that following the Turkish example, other powerful countries could attempt the same on their weaker neighbors. Would any of my compatriots agree to India invading AJK on a similar pretext and creating a buffer zone by populating it with India friendly Kashmiris?

Turkey is undoubtedly a friend of Pakistan. Personally speaking, I love visiting Istanbul and adore Turkish food; but one cannot justify a wrong even though the perpetrator is your dear friend. IMO supporting Turkey in this adventure would be intellectually dishonest and a Machiavellian tactic.

the west simply cant digest a muslim country taking a military action in its own interest against their trained and funded terrorists. they take muslims as a punching bag and not as defenders of their own interests. the only thing that can protect us against their evil designs is unity but this is not going to happen. as we are divided in nations and sects and our masses take pride in this dis unity.the disunity is at a level of hatred for each other. its a matter of shame but zionists are taking full advantage of our stupidity.
the same country who managed to give safe passage to these terrorists 5 yrs ago--? the same country who bought cheap smuggled oil from these terrorists? bilal erdogan) the same country who doesnot give any right of independence to kurds?..wht are we cheering for?(salah uddin ayubi/ nooruddin zangi both kurds?)

.
Yes, these Western nations are state sponsors of terrorism. They support PKK, TTP, BLA, MeK, FETO, Al Sadr, and Daesh to list a few.

Statistically, most armed of them all is Houhtis, who has fire hundreds of missiles from past one year and no one in world was moved.
Mafia on pdf used to say, Saudis will be defeated in days by houthis. That was the state of belief on houthis. I feel sorry on their disappointment, they shall try harder.

.
Kurds have an unfortunate history. However in this case i am fully supportive of the Turkish govt. The kurds have extended beyond their actual territory. They have also cleansed turkmen and arabs along the way. For the last century they have been victims and I am sympathetic but on balance A strong turkey is vital for the muslims of the world whilst kurds are a peripheral nation.

NATO countries need to shut up and support turkey as they need is a lot more than other way around.

.
is the letter from US president to erdogan deliberately leaked?? answer seems to be yes. trump used very harsh language for erdogan. he was disrespectful. i think it is meant to push erdogan to continue this operation in anger as he has no other option left. if erdogan pulls back the forces then the whole world will say that erdogan has succumbed to US threats and if he continues then economic and military sanctions will be imposed.

Yet they use these groups to demean and defame Muslims who have no relation to these groups’ actions, nor any means to stop them.
Bro, you are seriously overreaching with misconceptions in this post. Being a Muslim, WE should strive for truthfulness and recognize 'wrongs' of any entity as 'wrongs'.

Much of the WEST is victim of terrorism much like Pakistan in this age, and these countries have played a fundamental role in curbing this menace throughout the world; US above all.

However, terrorism is a far bigger problem then originally envisioned; this menace have both religious and political underpinnings. And 'misconceptions' play a major role in fueling these underpinnings. This is an unfortunate cycle.

Entire world is opposing Turkish aggression in Syria including iron brother state China. All are stupid? Since when a government of any country have the right to declare a foreign entity as a terrorist organization without consensus in UN? Even Assad-led Syrian regime (which have no love for SDF and its former American backers) is being vocal against Turkey and willing to confront Turkey over this matter.

Syrian nationals, irrespective of ethnicity, are protesting over Turkish incursions in different parts of Syria including in border areas. Over 300,000 have been displaced by now.

SDF is a multi-ethnic organization (kurd + arabs) that was created by the US to curb influence of ISIS in Syria as a component of the Operation Inherent Resolve, but Turkish military operation threaten to reverse gains against ISIS in the region. Hundreds of ISIS captives have reportedly escaped from an SDF-manned prison in Ain Issa when the SDF positions in this sector came under attack from Turkey-led forces*, and there are disturbing reports of the possibility of revival of ISIS in different parts of the world including in Afghanistan. You will notice lot of deliberations over this matter in the coming days.

you are right. turkey got her hands dirty against syria. there were news about oil smuggling out of syria through turkey into Europe. but after the failed coup erdogan is a changed man. it seems he realized US is not his friend. as far as kurds are concerned salahud din and zangi were great leaders however, it doesn't mean all the kurds are good or bad.

.
put your self in shoe of a kurd.. you will see why they want independence from these mongol,s
need a lot of time to study each fighting group in syria. there is large number of groups supported by many different countries which are calling others as wrong and only they are correct. but one thing is sure US backed groups and terrorists can never be on the right path.

Indeed when they were open minded and multi-cultural; unfortunately Ottoman breakup, they have become narrow minded.

Doesn’t seem like you know much about a Turkey or Turks.

The PKK does not represent Kurds. Most Turkish Kurds see themselves as Turkish first and Kurdish second.

This is why Turkey’s influence is so strong over Kurds under Barzani in Iraq and Muslim Kurds in general.

PKK represents Atheists and Non-Muslim Yazidi Kurds who are deeply against majority of Muslim Kurds. Many of them are deeply connected and supported by the West and Israel.

I noticed you always support American foreign policy.

We have different views on the matter.

Also, China is very wrong here and it will hurt Chinese interests if they do any major actions against Turkey.

Did they never learn about the Khilafat movement or Gallipoli?

put your self in shoe of a kurd.. you will see why they want independence from these mongol,s

Why are you so anti-Turkish?

Kurds are an Iranic people who settled in Turkish lands by Turks, they fought every war shoulder to shoulder with Turks at every juncture.

Kurdish culture is heavily influenced by Turks. Ideally, all should be under Turkey.

My friend, my family has been affected by the break up of the ottoman in 1920; so know the impact pretty close to our heart for generations.

I have dealt with quite a few Kurds for purchasing the oil they are producing in the northern Iraq. ( Kurdish Regional Gov't based in Erbil produces in excess of 300,000 bbl per day of crude) and know some of them quite well.

Please belived me that while outwardly many would say that they are Iraqi, Iranian or Turkish; a large segment of Kurds would like to have an independent Kurdistan. Therefore while you are quite correct in saying that PKK does not represent all the Kurds, there is substantial support for them among the 15-million or so Turkish Kurds.

Between 75 to 80 % of all Kurds are Sunni Muslims, about 15% could be Shias. Yazidis, on the other hand, constitute a very small minority. I was told by a Kurd that out of 40-million Kurds in the world, no more 700,000 are Yazidis, which is only about 0.2%.

PKK formed in the late 1970s has Marxists /Communist roots and consists mostly of leftist Turkish Kurds majority of whom belong to the Sunni faith.

Iraqi Kurdistan was a pet project of the US and Israel. Unfortunately for them, many Kurds are still pro-Turkish like Barzani.

Syrian YPG (PKK affiliate) was trained and nurtured by the same alliance, and given an impetus to take control of Northern Syria by Western-origin Daesh and the Syrian government.

We still have not gotten the exact amount of casualties of the victims of PKK terrorism in Iraq and Syria.

In Turkey, above 40,000 casualties constitute its victims.

So,China is a right but Türkiye is wrong?
Btw,70% of my family is Kurdish, they had and have the same rights as other citizens of my country, oppression of Kurds is bs,do some real research.
I could counter with what you really did wrong to other countries but i wont cause im a real "friend".
