People don't seem to understand that the purpose of the EU Resolution is to engage in discussion on the subject. There were various such resolutions passed with regards to China and even the USA and nothing came of it. Many Pakistani members here are celebrating as if the EU just passed blanket sanctions against India when they know deep down that these resolutions will come to naught and that the EU really can't afford to alienate nations such as China and India. Whilst the Malaysian PM accepted that his country is "too small" to counter India's sanction against palm oil, the EU is smart enough to realise that India's economy is too large to ignore.
