What's new

Employees of British Consulate allegedly involved in an abduction of a Pakistani girl in Karachi.

I don't think it's an abduction
Most likely the girl a UK born asked to be taken to UK to avoid forced marriage by her family

If Pakistani authorities cannot locate the citizen of interest within the country and is established that the person should be in the country by every calculus and is not, it is an abduction.

A crime committed within the confines of the sovereign state is governments first duty.

This country is very keen to export her criminals to Pakistan as mentioned by FM Koreshi

Said individual was a Pakistani national & residing in Pakistan. Since no one enjoyed the status of Diplomat hence had to abide by the local laws.
now, to enlighten yourself Kidnapping / Abduction under

You are certain she was NOT a UK national ??????

She will have ample opportunity to speak FOR HERSELF rather then others speaking for her.

A 18 year old is adult and legally has every right to chose to return to UK as much as I as a 57 year old have. I am also a dual citizenship holder. When I was in Pakistam if I needed to get back to UK but was prevented for whatever reason and the UK govenment helped me to get back would that be "abduction"? No.

This is exactly the same playing out here only that chances are she is 18 year old female. But legally that makes no differance. Furthermore when she gets back to UK chances are you will hear her say "thanks for helping me to get to UK".

I have heard of such incidents and they are sadly quite regular. What happens is some girl will start messing around and parents will not be able to restrain or force her to get married to a cousin of their choice. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on what you POV is they will finess the girl back to Pakistan and then give their the 'treatment'. This happens often to Sikh girls who share similiar culture to us. This problem is part and parcel of living in the West. The only insurance against this is never migrate abroad, live in the mountains. As parents we make choices and try to bring your kids up in a responsible way. But ultmately in life you neer know and risk is part of living.

someone was moved out of the country without knowledge of State authorities.
A British national going back to his own country should not require any protocols unless they are wanted in Pakista or have a restriction imposed on them. Non of that appears to be applicable. This will most like be a British born girl of Pakistani heritage who has been "abducted" by her parents. She at 18 has every right to call on her HM government and get help back to UK as fundamental right of a British citizen.
When you say crazy media, I hope you are not pointing fingers to some of the staff of this site.
Very much so.

Brits are involved in human trafficking
Not the first time during the second mid of 90s and early 2000 there was a group of certain foreign nationals working with religious organisation in Karachi was active [current status is unknown] who were involved in 'adoption' of minor orphans in Pakistan and then taking them out of the country mainly to UK, though legal process was adopted in each case to provide the cover but local circles were aware how the whole process was facilitated by UK embassy, though at that that time initial report was not clear about the motive of individual(s) of UK embassy to involve in this racket

Pakistan should scrap dual nationality.

The country already has a sizeable population. Otherwise these people will keep treating the country as some adventure island they acquired from feudal inheritance.

By all means, Brits are more than welcome to collect their trash from our land, the point here is she was a Pakistani national residing in Pakistan. whether Dual national or not is a different discussion.

Britain has Diplomatic channels established with Pakistan, such illegal act is utter violation of diplomatic norms. Should Pakistan return the favor & start taking out Pakistani dissidents in UK?

These western countries are running rings right under the nose of Authorities but get away with all this without any repercussions

It could be, that she was in a forced marriage and the other family had connections with the authorities so she asked for this sort of extraction. I myself do not place much trust in the Karachi police. But if this is not the case then it is a big deal that Brits are abducting whoever they want in our territory.

I will still put forward my fanboy proposal of kidnapping Altaf and Nawaz from London in retaliation. Altaf specifically is a terrorist who killed and tortured thousands. The UK should be shamed for harbouring him.

.
Its really stupid how these typical Pakistani families want to raise their kids as westerners and make sure they also get foreign nationality and then expect those kids to behave like obedient easterners and marry by their choice.
I remember a Pakistani guy in UK, he was always sad and tense because of his daughter hanging around with goras and others and having bf. He used to come to uni and complain and one day i told him its all ur fault, wtf were u expecting when u raise ur daughter in the west.

Abduction is certainly a term a state can use in lieu of unlawful removal of a person. However, it is more aptly a case of human trafficking in this case by another state... something known to be done by non state actors and smugglers, another apt term to describe the event, smuggled out. I'd be curious to know if it is in fact first such recorded case in Pakistan...

Pakistani Teenager Girl Abducted by British Consulate Employees in Karachi.

View attachment 721249

According to reports, Employees of British Consulate abducted a 18 yrs old girl in Karachi and smuggled her out of the country without the tacit approval of the Govt authorities.

The individual in question was a british - Pakistani residing with her parents in Karachi. She was abducted without the knowledge of parents, nor state authorities were informed of this operation. This is clear violation of Diplomatic norms and laws of the land. No heed was paid to involve local authorities or seek assistance of Foreign Office before taking such a drastic step.

Foreign Office needs to call British high commissioner and protest against this illegal. act.

This is a developing story, the thread will be updated.

What passport does she carry ? If she is a British national and above 18 years old you can take it with a British court

I am assuming this has something to do with forced marriages

Britain has repeatedly asked the Pakistani govt to produce a interpol red notice or present the evidence in court seeking repatriation. Pakistan always REFUSES. It has no evidence against Nawaz except a whole shopping list of accusations but no SHREAD OF VERIFIABLE EVIDENCE

If she is a British National and an adult (18) and requests the aid of its govt (Britain) to return to UK for whatever reason ( Eg forced marriage of forced confinement ) . The UK govt is duty bound to aid her to get back to UK.
No doubt she can speak for herself from UK.
Aww that's sweet - thanks for your concern. Can we ask Indian navy forces to assist us in returning this person safely to her parents' custody, since they have an outstanding track record of ignoring females who are forcibly confined or forced into marriage when potentially more lucrative outcomes are on the table?

.
I will check it out. I got family working in British Consulate in Karachi and Lahore.

If only we did some 27th Feb style retaliations instead of just protest every time our country's sovereignity was breached, we would not be in this state now. Sorry but we don't need anymore protests.

When I try to make a case against Britain and US presence in Pakistan it is often shrugged off as nonsense. Yet these instances clearly demonstrate how correct I am.

This is not just a violation of Pakistani laws. It also mocks Pakistani sovereignty. It is the Wild West. The Western nations are in a state of war against Pakistan. Pakistani leaders are a complete joke. Totally ignorant and oblivious of the situation on the ground. The Western embassies are wreaking havoc inside Pakistan. Supporting INGOs and local NGOs involved in anti-state activities. Spying on Pakistani nuclear and missile program. Supporting terror through Afghanistan. Smuggling of BLA, PTM and individuals of their choice out of Pakistan. This are clear signs of a banana republic.

I don't think it's an abduction

Even then you need to follow the procedures of a country. How would Britain react if Pakistan smuggled an individual out of Britain without their consent and knowledge? Britain is a country that supports terrorists such as Altaf Hussain and we want to talk with Boris Johnson LOL That is our reality. What a pathetic state of affairs. We have so many excuses. Always ready to hand out excuses.

Pakistan hasn't got its house in order when people are smuggled out of its territory in broad daylight. Americans smuggle their assets such as Gulalai Ismail and others. Raymond Davis and the like kill Pakistanis for fun. We allow them to walk skot free. It is a tragedy beyond words. We are just supposed to accept bullying by Western nations.
