Just as Indians wait for the 'millions of poor Indians, no toilets, low IQ, minority discrimination' etc etc.

Erm... i doubt this will be a regular thing. The plane needed to refuel - that's all. Although it's good to know that the airport can handle an A380 without issues, despite not extending the runway

"Making local aviation history, an Airbus A380-800 touched down in Sri Lanka today for the first time. The unexpected first arrival was A6-EDN, an Emirates A380, enroute from Sydney and Auckland. Apparently the A380 needed to refuel and selected Colombo instead of its previously planned Singapore stop – due to shorter total flying time on the way from Sydney to Dubai via Colombo."

Airbus A380 to touch down at BIA
by Shirajiv SIRIMANE
For the first time in Sri Lanka’s aviation history, the world’s largest passenger airliner, Airbus A380 has been granted permission to land at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited, the Air Navigation Service Provider has given the green light for Emirates Airlines Airbus A380 (Super Jumbo) aircraft which operates four flights per day between Dubai and Sydney through the Flight Information Region of Sri Lanka to use the Bandaranaike International Airport as an Emergency/Medical alternative, effective from tomorrow. Aviation analysts said that this is a rare honour for a country such as Sri Lanka which has one international airport.

yup, as for Pakistan, a380 wont be coming till 2014, still waiting for the karachi airport extensions and New islamabad airport to be finished

Off Topic:And are the haraam eating ministers and politicians and top heads of Pakistani government and PIA authorities and Airport authorities capable for handling such things?

When the Haj season starts they announce on TV, in newspapers, on Radio, (write on walls and print and distribute pamphlets at every street) that PIA is performing "Haj operation" and the Airports are busy with "Haj Operations". What will they do announce if these big things start coming to Pakistan?

What will they name the "operation" if they start to handle at any of the Pakistani Airports 47,180,628 passengers (this is number of passengers handled in 2010 at Dubai Airport only)

People cannot run the country and are running the country and want to run the country again and again, what a great country Pakistan.

When will they learn from the GCC countries (where they run when they feel un-safe in Pakistan or when they want money) how to develop economies and run national assets? Ops sorry they don't have brain for learning that.
