They are not old anymore. They are MLUed.

You can take his word for it or research yourself what upgrade the block 15s went through and if they are capable or firing HARM or whether PAF acquired the missiles and their associated targeting pods.

OK, so here is the misunderstanding between us. By Wild Weasel I meant SEAD using EM energy. That is also the topic of that thread. I never claimed our Vipers can perform DEAD operations using HARM missiles.

Yes definitely we were not on the same page. We should try be accurate in what we post or say, as much as possible, not just to get our point across but also not to mislead others. When you originally stated "Wild weasel versions of F-16 with golden canopies are in service with PAF" you implied two things which I don't think are factual. First, that PAF has Wild Weasel F-16s, which is name given to a particular variant of the bird designated F-16CJ. We clearly don't have those aircraft.

Second, that the gold tinted canopies imply those F-16s have some special electronic attack function (never heard of that capability in the F-16 in terms of SEAD, hence why USAF used EA-6B so extensively). Also, I posted a newer picture of the same F-16 with a regular canopy, to point out that the fallacy in that line of thinking. Also having just one aircraft in the entire fleet for that role doesn't make sense either -_-.
I would speculate PAF had to order a canopy for one of its jets for whatever reason and it got one from the USAF excess inventory and then removed the lining after sometime. (apparently it is very hard to clean and gets scratched easily)

Also, while Windjammer is pretty knowledgeable, he is not above making mistakes or being flat out wrong and nothing anyone says should be taken at face value. At least that is how I see things in general.

Well, if you read the thread whose link I posted, multiple experts on the forum replied to it, informing us how the gold canopy is used to lower the RCS of the aircraft, and that it helps in protecting the pilots in the presence of jamming equipment. This led me to be believe that PAF had a SEAD capability in its F-16s, and I have held this assumption since seeing that thread back in 2016.

So let us clarify. Are you saying that PAF does not have any electronic jamming pods for its F-16?

Electronic jamming pods have no correlation with gold tinted canopies and is not the same as electronic attack. If that were the case, the Block 52s all would have something akin to that since they carry jamming pods too (which btw is not the same as electronic attack or SEAD). Jamming pods such as those carried by our F-16s or other small to medium sized jets function to degrade the enemy's ability to detect the fighter and are more or less self-protection pods.

That falls under the definition of Suppression of Enemy Air Defences.
