Electronic Warfare: Where does Pakistan stand?

Commodity hardware + commodity software means security loopholes even in airgapped computers. You think Irans's centrifuges were connected to the Internet?

Their use of the Siemens controllers compromised them via the dual package malware inserted into the air gap system via a USB drive. Local propriety equipment, local proprietary software, air gaping critical systems and not using scada systems, strict enforcement of proper security procedures like not introducing USB drives have to be enforced. A lot can be done. We are doing the though vetting of employees I hope.

Pakistan should ask all its allies to train teams in each field of EW/ECM/ECCM/Cyber Warfare/Cyber Defense. A mix of training programs and ToT for purchased hrdware can help Pakistan catch up. The Electromagnetic Spectrum Defense has to be considered almost another branch of the military; That's how Important it has become.

Old falcon we are using for airforce

Our stupid chief of air keep saying when time come you will se fact is we seen our Paf not giving air cover to kargil hill IAF mirages pounded bombs and our F 6 were sitting ducks

Fact is electronic warefare oaf kacks in aircrafts they dont have budget to get proper air superiority jet let alone long range air defence system we lack alot in airforce fact is we are on IAF mercy our PAF chiefs only has lies to telk us as a pakistani i want to see paf induct new technology invest in technology rather than human training i dont say training not impirtant but machibes has some more importance than human in air

It's not the airforce, but the general level of scientific know how within the country. You could accuse PAF if, for example, we had billions to spend and they did nothing. Or we had world class electronics programs in unis and they did nothing. Given where the rest of the country is, they have done well. It is a failure on the part of entire leadership of the country from 71 onwards that no focus was given to science, technology and education.

I tell you, if just Ghulam Ishaq Khan's vision had been implemented correctly, we would today be similar to Turkey at least. It is a peculiarity of Pakistan that our most sincere leaders pass away just when they could turn us around. Quaid-e-Azam, Zia (controversial), GIK. Now I hope IK delivers on the hopes placed with him.

The video shared under my comment is the result If you do not develop a network centric layered protection umbrella that have a strong resistance to jamming against an advanced enemy’s electronic support & attack operation in parallel to ground supression strike thanks to precision strike missiles. The importance of electronic support and jamming sensors and generated tactics will gain importance more in following period especially when such footages are revealed by the countries ruling those technologies but It is not logical to outsource such technologies to outside manufacturers. They should be either developed by own institutes, or very close ally states who is promising not to share any serious knowledge with other states. Otherwise, all infrastructure of your systems would be easily deactivated thanks to counter electronic attack operations. In this aspect, Those technologies are mostly classified and not allowed to be shared with any other states.

Russian Pantsir system is converted into a sparkler against Israeli jammer aircraft.

China also had to go through a learning curve of introducing modern electronics and the personnel who know how to use them effectively, while its own general population lagged behind. It took a whole generation after the 1991 gulf war; 28 years to come to today. the Gulf war was a wake up call for china; as stated in Chinese military literature. They saw how a force similar to their own was easily decimated with high tech munitions, modern c4isr, and a different strategy. While Pakistan's general population lags behind, the military needs to push to implement similar reforms. "war under high tech conditions" will evolve to "war under internationalized conditions" as has occurred in China.

We certainly need to reform the education system to find the brightest candidates to help fill the ranks of the EW force, but we have to remember we need to build the infrastructure in the universities to manufacture the physical EW equipment our forces need urgently. Pakistan needs a crash program to establish all the basic conditions to nurture a cadre of EW warriors from amongst already well educated students.

The foundation for this crash program has to start with our general IT industry. Elite IT incubators, at universities, need to be established in each city to lure in bright talent, and build up that industry. while the IT industry produces civilian and some military products for the global market, it can also help meritocratically sorting out the cream of the crop. The best of the best can be tapped on the shoulder and be invited to join EW corps. Something akin to the follow has to be established to build up the talent pool. These top talent students can be trained by our allies; China and Turkey. With subsequent generations of cadres trained, and practical real world experience, Pakistani EW forces would be a useful ally to China and Turkey; where the knowledge sharing would benefit all parties. These forces could also be useful to Arab allies, and be a resource that can be loaned to the Arabs for missions and in return netting Pakistan high tech facilitates for manufacturing modern EW equipment.

The lure to joining such a unit and doing three to five years of satisfactory service can be paid back with venture capital for a IT company the student would like to establish. Pakistan has to keep up with these developments, being highly inefficient has already keep us behind. If we don't catch up we will have squandered our demographic dividend, and be forever crippled.

Here are some factors to consider. Intelligence needs to be nurtured through constant intellectual challenges. Young, formative years are the most important in this regard. Now, a large part of our population grows up facing existential challenges, scavenging for food, dealing with uneducated parents, relatives, and friends. This leaves an imprint on the psyche for the rest of life. The ones who go to public schools acquire only basic literacy. The ones who go through matriculation acquire skills in rote learning, get regular exposure to dishonesty from school life. Top it off with all sorts of vulgarity and idiocy on the internet. You get an army of subservient minds, unable to think independently, or propose original solutions to complex problems. Probably the only systematic institution for nurturing creativity is the Cambridge system. Unfortunately, it's students are exposed from early age to modernism, and Western ideals. Along with acquiring intellectual skills they acquire a complete mental capitulation to Western ideals. After A levels, the creme de la crème is given scholarships to foreign unis and then insane incentives which means they never return. These are people who grew up breathing the air in Pakistan, consuming the water in Pakistan, eating the food. To give them ideal conditions at school, resources of this country were spent. Resources that were not available to the kid who slept hungry at night. If they do return, they act like agents of Western interests. At this point, I get so angry, I have to say that Pakistan is being gangraped by all of us. We are a nation of rapist motherf*ckers. All of us.

What is left in Pakistan mostly goes to pathetic universities where rote learning is further encouraged. They don't get any meaningful depth in their field of study.

On the other hand, entrance to some of the topmost universities in Pakistan is actively monitored on the basis of Westernization. The pimps on the entrance boards tell certain candidates on the face that they won't be able to meld with their culture. On the other hand, students who tell them they want to join because the girls are hot are allowed in with an encouraging smile. This is not some story I heard somewhere. This is the reality I am telling you. There is further outflow after undergrad and grad studies.

Systematically, people of this nation are being groomed to mentally capitulate to the West. They are too advanced, we can never catch up. This is drilled into their minds.

This same mental subjugation is behind the Viper Elitism in PAF. Look at the pictures of Viper drivers. With notable exceptions, you will see a pattern. At American airforce schools, they are taught the best skills and the worst mental slavery. They won't take up arms against people they identify as friends, mentors, and benefactors. The worst of the worst amongst them actively make decisions that keep us technologically backward. Others are willing or unwilling, witting or unwitting participants.

You give the example of China. Well the intellectual, social, moral, ethical, and most importantly national DNA of China is very, very different. In Pakistan, we don't have a national DNA. We do have widespread genes of corruption, nepotism, and mental subjugation.

What we need is top leadership that is free from mental slavery, and has a handle on the core problem. We either have leaders like Nawaz and Zardari, or Imran Khan who promises us a powerful passport because of tourism. You know what type of countries excel only in tourism? Countries like Thailand that are reknown for ladyboys. Interestingly, just recently the third gender has got lots of rights. Coincidence? Unlikely. Even with Imran Khan, don't think we will evolve into a global powerhouse. He is getting his ideas from foreign masters. He is not a scientifically aware man of vision, and the pathetic ideas he has floated provide insight into his shallow mind.

So in the coming days, months, years, and decades, don't be surprised if Pakistan becomes the world leader of 'Ladyboy walk of shame'.

Agreed but with less what we bought in ekectronic janners and technology for airforce in last 30 years only falcon aircraft nothing came

I agree we have kess but even with less we did none for electronic jamning

Wild weasel versions of F-16 with golden canopies are in service with PAF.

this is how they are controlling our minds. add role of media into it and you will understand fully how they have fully taken control of our thoughts, vision and even foreign policy. the ongoing US -pak exercise despite trump's harsh remarks about pak during his tenure is a way for pentagon to make sure our elite still accepts them as a master and juniors are also groomed in the same way.

That is some critical thinking man.
Here is a newer picture of the same jet...now it is not a "Wild Weasel"

You sound feeble when you have to throw jibes at a handle. I consider @Windjammer a respectable member of the forum and have put my trust into the information shared by him. Now instead of dropping hints, how about you explain the situation fully and clearly? Are you alleging that Windjammer's information is incorrect?

You can take his word for it or research yourself what upgrade the block 15s went through and if they are capable or firing HARM or whether PAF acquired the missiles and their associated targeting pods.
