Why do we need to export electricity when we ourselves have major power issues? I mean load shedding is a constant issue with many metros of India expect kerlaI think this is not doing any favours other than promoting cheap political stunts. domestic consumption is more important, then export. :disagree:

Finally we are approaching towards economic ties rather than defense stand offs.

Diplomatic measures dear, sometimes you have to take some initiatives.

These "Cheap political stunts" reduce the chance of nuclear war.

These are confidence building measures to reduce trust deficit. Its important for us so that we can focus on our economy and other issues, same goes for our neighbor.

LOL NUCLEAR War! NICE try buddy by India declining to light a blub across the border does not necessarily mean nuclear war. I mean dramatization at its best. Refer to my prev post, India itself is sustaining shortfalls in electricity production, was refering to provide the domestic consumer first before exporting. Please get that through your thick head. I have no problems in export and it’s a good gesture but not at the costs of the domestic consumer suffering.

:cheesy:

i wonder what the reaction would be if india was in the same situation as pakistan? would pakistan export ? answer that question honstly without prejudice

Well, if we have surplus electricity and there can be a negotiation of price, why should we not sell it?
The states which are facing power shortage are too far I think.

This happens in China as well, one area (Like Inner Mongolia) generated too much power that is has to export to Mongolia while southern provinces experiened shortages. The problem is that economically it is not practical to transfer electricity from one grid to another grid. Even they are in the same grid, transferring electricity over distance wastes a lot of energy over wire. It is better just sell the surplus to neighboring countries if the grid are connected.
