We are facing the same situation here in the United States. While a big (ISNA) organizations following Eid on the time when it should be (that is by the moon in the United States rather than Saudi Arabia), little organizations decided to celebrate Eid by Saudia Arabia. Smart guys followed (me

I'm a believer of abolishing the Moon-sighting methodology and replacing it with the moon position method. Once that's accomplished then next step should be to follow Makkai/Madini moon positions.We are facing the same situation here in the United States. These two simple steps would lead to a precise, accurate and definite Hijri calendar.
I believe we need a BIG Muslim organization which is powerful enough to lay down their rules on the countries. So when it says.. this day you got eid. You celebrate it on that day, and not when your off from the job.

Such an organization need not start from Saudi Arabia. Astronomical analysis can be done from anywhere, after collecting data from public sources.I believe we need a BIG Muslim organization which is powerful enough to lay down their rules on the countries. So when it says.. this day you got eid. You celebrate it on that day, and not when your off from the job.
I think it would be nice if we did our Months through astronomical positioning in Pakistan. Then we will at least start going in the right direction and get a precise dating technique.
