Yeh but when you are at Office like me even on Eid day and than going to some harsh terrian i will ask you how can you Celebrate EID.

No Eid for Journalists .

BTW

Sab Magar Machoon Ko Eid Mubarak :D

.
Why is it that pakistan celebrates eid seperately from the rest of the world. Even within the country in peshwar there are actually three eids being celebrated. We as a nation are soo pathetic, we cant even celebrate eid on the same day.
Anyways Happy Eid to all.

Sad, but chill. You just called the nation "Pathetic", that kind of loose talk isn't any better.

IceCold im still in office so it realy leaves a sour taste in mouth and tommorrow i may leave for some harsh area so for me it dosnt matter whether three eids or one Eid.

But lets coming to your question well as we all see even Saudi Arabia had announced that they are one fast behind means their starting date was wrong.

Now let me tell you one thing here in NWFP people specially in tribal areas, they keep the movement of moon by observing and keeping the record of the timing of movement hence they exactly can trace at what particular date or day the moon will be sighted at what point.
One more thing we have only 2 or 3 hours difference with Saudia Arabia and some other Muslim countires and we observe usually Eid after one day of theirs.
Now withing our own cities to say Between Islamabad, Peshawar and same others we have the same or more time differences so the movement of moon will surely also follow the time difference hence it should not be matter of laugh if there is Eid on different days withing Pakistan.

Regards
Jana

I don't get the obsession with SEEING the moon.

I mean the moon revolves around the earth at a set pace. The Earth rotates at a set pace.

These are constants. Never changing (only slightly in millions of years). This gives us a perfect calculation of WHEN a moon would be facing any piece of land on the Earth. PRECISE.

We should use our astronomical sciences for something so obvious but the Mullahs won't give in because this takes away their hold on these official committees set to do this job. It's sort of a position of power.

Second point is that the entire Calendar started on the way from Makkah to Madinah. Either a Makkan or a Madinan sighting should be followed by all. It's RIDICULOUS to say that a calendar can vary person to person. TIME is constant for all of us (Unless you bring in Quantum physics are traveling the speed of light or higher).

It must be hard for you and your family. Why cant you just take a few leaves atleast on Eid, i know your job is very demanding but still eid kon sa her roze atti ha.

The moon theory you explained actually was stealth:P. i mean i didnt get it lol. Anyways i agree with asim why cant we have eid the same day as that of saudi arabia, afterall we lie in the same region, and beisdes we have exact calculations too when is moon suppose to be sighted so why cant we just follow that, why do we have to see it in actual.
I guess we do need a satelite dedicated just for this job:lol:

You don't need a satellite. You need a mathematician.

The only thing affecting the moon sighting would be the weather. And as far as I know the Islamic calendar is lunar based not clouds based.

Many countries have already agreed to a Saudi sighting. We can't agree to an Islamabad sighting, still. UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and so on all GCC countries agree to a Saudi sighting.

They won't agree to a Saudi sighting till they don't get over the fact that SEEING the moon is not important but the position of the moon is. Calendars are astronomical. Imagine, if ALL the humans of the world go blind will the date not move? A system should be fool proof the current Hijri calendar is not.

Asim just let me leave the moon sighting aside thing yara we had been caught between two extermists the Moderat Extermists and the conservative extremists rather both are doing politics and only we had to bear the burnt.
:)
it dosnt matter which day you are celebrating just do a good deed and give smiles the message if Islam

It's divisionary, J. Especially felt in countries like America, where a Pathan bhai would be following quetta and a Punjabi would be following Islamabad and some other would just follow Saudi. All in one neighborhood.

If you want to invite someone over for Eid you have to wait till the 3rd day sometimes when everyone's fasts would be over.

:enjoy:better to invite eveyone on third day

Asim iwish if all those who have comfortable lives must see there are thousands of those who need us instead of messing up in these petty things.

Or take the exmaple of students from Pakistan who are abroad geezz the poor souls have succeed in even baking a brown muffin and that too is eaten by someone uninviated :D how will the student feel that too if he had been fasting all Ramazan

I feel for the Pakistani students leaving ma for the first time and entering the western society where you even got to mop floors, bathrooms, the whole mopology course, cause getting money from Pakistan to eat a 5$ meal can't sustain itself.

I learned to cook all kinds of complex Pakistani foods here in Dubai too where its easily and cheaply available. I'm the "shaukeen" type.

However wherever our family is we do try to get together on Eid. The 1st day of Eid is what it's all about. Get up in the morning, gather around with all the cousins, dad, brother, pull out that Shalwar Kurta which you are never going to wear for the rest of the year but its cool on Eid, go over to the Pakistani masjid, meet a hundred people cause everyone's a Pakistani you just happen to know :P...

My mom usually sleeps through it, plus the arrangements for women in the mosque are not adequate. But she gets up eventually and starts preparing the Sawaiyaan in her unique little way (every Pakistani mom has her unique way of cooking Sawaiyaan). I go get Puri, Channay, cholay for naashta.

As the afternoon approaches, me n mom start working on the Biryani. Every Pakistani mom has her own unique way of making Biryani and mine makes the best :D. I usually just make the raita... Then the cousins, their wives, husbands come over for lunch.

Then its Eidi time. There was a time when I just used to receive the Eidi, now I got a nephew and a niece. But still being the youngest in our generation of cousins, I still end up getting more than I give :P.

The first day of Eid is FILLED with traditions. It's worth debating over a little to get some unity to do all of this together.
