dear both are from different classes, you cannot compare
you can buy some Rafaels but are very expensive on the other hand you can keep big amount of multirole fighters for your defense.

It is a misnomer amongst many that as Egypt flies different makes of aircraft---it will suffer nightmares in supply of parts at critical times---.

Well---this is an incorrect assessment---. We are talking about war machines that will be flying out and coming back to their bases---if not shot down---.

The nightmare situation arises when a military is not prepared in advance for the shortfall---like the PAF was ill prepared for the known sanctions---.

Egypt has not shown any signs that its air force has issues in maintaining its current inventory---.

Those who are harping on maintenance issues---would have the same problem---if they had only one type of machine---AKA the F16---and the organization---PAF---.

Always remember---people who have issues of incompetence---they will always have issues of showing incompetence---because their system is setup up around that mind set---.

there f16s although provided as aid are pretty much bomb trucks they are only armed with the aim-7 sparrow no amraam. uncle sam will never provide them with anything which could threaten israel. on paper the egyptian air force looks like a force to reckon with, but those guys more then anyone else may benefit from a PL15 armed JF17.
