What's new

Egypt is officially the first customer of the Russian fighter Su-35 in the Middle East and Africa

Ok one thing , we are not enemies with Turkey.
the regime is something (along with its toys) and the people is something else.

abotu su-35, it's a good approach but not just 26, the more will be better along with gettin rid of f-16s and replace them either with j-10c or mig-35 (with aesa) or the new block of jf-17.

it's known that there will be no more rafales, it already happened before with mirage-2000 deal .. french are nasty but we are stupid cuz we never learn.

so probably 100 su-35 + 100mig29m (with aesa)+ at least 100 J-10c will do the job.

not to mention we have to put our hands on the stealth drone CH-7, it has a good capability with anti radiation and anti ship missiles.

And AGAIN , Egypt and Turkey are brothers in religion.
I hope everyone trying to split between us to die of cancer.

It seems that you have political support to your khalifaa Erdogan ....then stop talking about other Egyptians ......
Your Khalifa and his Regime are trying to destroy Egypt .... mainly through local supporters like in Syria and Libya ...... but it is in your dreams to think that we will let your Khalifa and his local supporters destroy Egypt .

Muhammad Ali Pasha waged war against the Ottomans and could have destroyed their empire if Western European powers wouldn't intervene to stop him.

When it comes to Egypt, my main concern is israeli spies. A country can have the most powerful military in the region, but if it doesn't have powerful intelligence agencies to protect it from the enemy, then it's vulnerable .... exposed! The only reason why israelis don't bother about what Jazeerat-ul-Arab buys (military hardware) is because it's got the saudis in their back pocket. So I would be very concerned if israel doesn't take Egypt's military build-up, as a cause for concern.
Actually they are some of the oldest on this planet..they are very efficient..in par with the western and eastern agencies in techniques and operational efficacy.. but they are more secretive than others.. You should ask ISI about them..

Don't know where you got your information from..but a little search should have enlightened you a bit:

General Intelligence Directorate (Egypt)

  • The GID states that it managed to plant an Egyptian agent among Jewish immigrants to Israel. That agent, Refaat Al-Gammal, managed to live 18 years in Israel without being discovered. In those years, he established a network of spies in various fields of the Israeli community, though this is contradicted by various Israeli sources, which claim that Refaat was a double agent and helped the IDF to win the Six-Day War.[8][9]
  • In 1970 the GID managed to hunt an Israeli oil rig while being shipped from Canada to Sinai (occupied at that time). Clandestine GID agents and frogmen succeeded in tracing the oil rig to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, and planted sets of explosives, had them detonated and crippled the rig. Ironically, this was done while the city was full, not only of Mossad agents protecting the oil rig, but also while it was full of CIA agents who were guarding the NASA astronauts during their visit to Côte d'Ivoire. This operation was published in 1985 under the name "Al-Haffar Operation" it was supervised at that time by GID director Amin Howeidi (1921–2009).
  • Perhaps a major success of the GID was handling the Egyptian "Strategic Deception Plan", which was carried out from January 1970 to October 1973 and aimed to conceal the Egyptian plans to launch massive operation to free occupied Sinai on 6 October 1973 starting the October war. The plan included planting false information and hidden implied data in Egyptian president Sadat's speeches and newspapers articles. For example, the GID prepared the military operations and evacuated complete sections of Cairo hospitals to be ready for receiving war casualties. This evacuation that took place few days before the war started, was done after declaring false information that those hospitals were infected with Tetanus. The plan included a major operation whose details are still not published. This operation aimed at getting detailed information of American spy satellites covering the Middle East, by knowing exact trajectories and timing of those satellites the GID prepared complicated logistic movement schedules for all Egyptian military units to avoid moving mass troops in timings where they could be spotted by satellites.

Russian media outlets have speculated the sanctions that the US might impose on Egypt in the event that it acquires the Sukhoi Su-35 fighter, as Washington has previously threatened.

Russia Today (RT) stated that it has now become known that the deal is about to be implemented despite the US’ previous threats to Egypt, made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, that the implementation of this deal may render Egypt subject to sanctions, under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act.

According to experts, the Egyptian army’s acquisition of the Su-35 Russian fighter will lead to a military imbalance in the region, as it is one of the most powerful fighter aircraft in the world, and it will guarantee the Egyptian army’s superiority over the other air forces in the region.

Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta disclosed that the hypothetical analyses and battles of the Su-35 against F-15 and F-22 aircraft showed that the Russian fighter is designed to defeat the two other fighters, and in a close battle, there are no opportunities for the US fighters against the Russian fighter.

On Saturday, the Russian TASS news agency quoted a military-diplomatic source stating that Russia had started manufacturing the latest generation of the Su-35 fighters for Egypt, under a contract signed with Cairo.

A document published by the official website of the Russian government’s contracts and tenders revealed a tender related to a contract of supplying electrical connections and cables that will be used in the manufacturing of a new weapon for Egypt.

The document explained that the contract was concluded between Rosoboronexport company and Egypt in 2018.

The Su-35 fighter poses a threat to the US fighters in air battles. It belongs to the 4++ generation and can compete with Western warplanes such as the F-15 Eagle, F/A-18, and even the fifth-generation F-35, as it is an evolved model of the legendary Sukhoi Su-27 fighter, which was manufactured in 1988.

The Russian fighter weapons include all types of air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles, anti-ship missiles, laser-guided or satellite-guided bombs, as well as a 30-mm cannon equipped with 150 shells.

By comparison, the F-22 fighter has four external platforms and three internal platforms for launching missiles and bombs, while the Russian fighter is equipped with engines that ensure excellent maneuverability, outmastering all fourth-generation fighters. In addition, the Russian fighter flies at a speed of 2,500 kilometres per hour, at an altitude of 20,000 meters.

This is am important deal to keep an eye on. If Egypt goes for these Jets than Egypt will have ability to attack and defend from Israel. Which USA is not going to allow. Lets see which side the camel sits on this deal. Russian sources said they will deliver first 2 Jets with in this year.

Russia has launched production of Su-35 fighter jets for Egypt
Russia has launched the production of its advanced Su-35 fighter jets under a contract with Egypt, a military diplomatic source told TASS on Saturday.

"The Gagarin Aircraft Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has launched the production of Su-35, intended to be delivered to the Egyptian Air Force under the contract signed in 2018," the source said.

"The timeframe for first batch’s delivery to the Egyptian side has not been set yet, due to restrictions imposed by the novel coronavirus outbreak," he added.

TASS has been unable to officially confirm the information by the time of the publication.

Russia’s Kommersant daily reported in March 2019 that Egypt had decided to purchase several Russian-made Su-35 fighter jets for about $2 billion. The signing of the deal has never been confirmed by official sources.

China has become the first foreign country to buy Su-35 when it signed a $2.5-billion deal with Russia for 24 aircraft. The deal also envisaged supplies of ground equipment and spare engines. The delivery of the aircraft to China was completed in 2019.

Why would Egypt use these against Israel when Egypt, Russia and Israel are all fighting against Turkey in Libya?

LOL
Why else would Egypt buy them? I mean what purpose they serve other than being from a non NATO source? Egypt bought Rafale & friend/foe system will not allow to target F35. SU can target them. That is the only reason for this purchase.

SU-35 is for air superiority. Rafale is for bombing.

SU35 is Russian Rafale is NATO. they are not compatible. Your bomber and your escort from 2 different sources why?
They both are multi role. Both can do all type of missions so only reason for Egypt is that it is trying to have versatile military dependency.
