New Recruit
Years ago we heard Egypt might buy a JF-17 fighter produce line, others maybe HQ-9 missile or Navy's warship ... but today i didn't read any news on China media yet.
Considering the FREMM buy on the one hand and the type of waters around it,
I'd find a Type-22 buy quite reasonable.
Houbeis in say 30 to 50 numbers split 2/3=1/3 from Med north shore to the Red Sea
would protect the Suez canal at a relatively low cost. Their size allows them survivability.
Jet fighters on the other hand are unlikely to bring any surprise past the possibility of MiG-35.
Between it and the Rafale, both to evaluate before further buys can be implemented, the horizon
is bleak for contenders.
In any case, don't blink on arms deals from Cairo for the next 6 months!
Good day Kamal and all, Tay.
The F-16's do not have BVR capabilities.
Egypt is gonna get some of these no question about it.No no Bro, I meant this :
Type 22 - China’s Houbei class fast-speed missile boats | China Daily Mail

Nothing on chinese local news atm...
JF-17s。But it seems that the planes will be produced at CAC‘s factory in Chengdu,China。
That could be the only reason Egypt has chosen the Chinese JF-17's then the more expensive F-16's.man 80% of people barely have enough to eat and here money is being poured into defence for decades.
