Considering the FREMM buy on the one hand and the type of waters around it,
I'd find a Type-22 buy quite reasonable.
Houbeis in say 30 to 50 numbers split 2/3=1/3 from Med north shore to the Red Sea
would protect the Suez canal at a relatively low cost. Their size allows them survivability.

Jet fighters on the other hand are unlikely to bring any surprise past the possibility of MiG-35.
Between it and the Rafale, both to evaluate before further buys can be implemented, the horizon
is bleak for contenders.

In any case, don't blink on arms deals from Cairo for the next 6 months!

if you are talking about the British type 22 so this is not gonna happen as we don't like to deal with them that much they are pretty worst than usa from our pov , all the next deals will be done majorly from France , russia , china , italy and germany but limited.

the mig-35 is no question for me that the deal is already made and i am 100% sure , Egypt is on a shopping spree we and we will see a great army probably from 2018

It's great Egypt is diversifying its Arms. Rafales from France, Russian Migs and S-300 SAMs, Chinese drones and Fast attack boats, etc. You can now expect the Egyptian Military to remain fully functional in case US decides to ban military support in case of war with Israel.

That could be the only reason Egypt has chosen the Chinese JF-17's then the more expensive F-16's.
