But Egypt desperately needed not the JF17 jet but the JF17 programme

I believe if properly negotiated backed up with billions wasted already and billions in GCC backing

Egypt could easily have negotiated for JF17 assembly line if not production line

Negotiated for PL15 BVRs and SD10s

With Aesa equipped Block 3 round the corner


With the ability to pick and choose weapons that it actually needed and start in house production it would have been massive for Egypt

They could easily have had 200+ BVR equipped fighters with the money they are spending or wasting shall we say

Then compliment those fighters with smart purchases of bombers etc


Egyptian military thinking is almost as muddled as Indian military thinking

wrong sir again you forget the price of that free . its same as our CSF and USA use egypt so much all the year and at the end give them 1bn$ made in USA low grade weapons .

You guys talk about the Eygptian military like it's meant to be there to protect Eypgt. It is there to protect American interests in Eygpt from Eygptians. They are sold weapons, funded in part by the American taxpayer and in part by the Eygptian taxpayer. Its not our problem what they have it or not I am more interested if PAF can get hold of some of those planes. We are short of money so we can always buys second hand F16s and upgrade them as per our wishes like we have done in the past.

I read here that they are also getting Su35s and Eurofighters, surely they can fire latest BVRs and once they have them, F16s will automatically become redundant for them or unless US allows them their BVR up-gradation.
