ECP alarmed at 28 clauses of electoral reforms bill

until it’s proven that EVMs will work viably.
When have paper ballots worked viably? When ECP has no problem conducting elections on paper ballots despite voter fraud, why are they so afraid of trying EVM fraud?

They have more than ample business opportunities to enjoy.

It's against natural law.

If someone in Pasni cannot vote in Miranshah, then why do Canadians, Americans or Brits be allowed to vote in Layyah or Chaghi?
I agree with you sir..
They should only send money not votes..

Otherwise we will be stuck in erdogan like situation where he gets alot of foreign votes

We dont need yahodi agent but patriots like zardari and bilawal bhutto(since nawaz sharif is alos now a foreign pakistani)

Zardari is the only thing close to made in Pakistan.

It's not nationalism or patriotism, it's common sense and logic.

That’s not what they’re saying. In both cases they’ve added caveats; until legislation is done, and until it’s proven that EVMs will work viably.

As for the first point, I’m still not clear, what happens with constituencies? ECP is asking and so was I in that other thread. We have constituencies and FPTP, overseas vote is fine but needs to be properly defined and implemented.
Agree sir we all know paper ballot works perfectly uptill now we have no issues with it..and counting paper ballets is much easier then electronic machine

Also EVms can be hacked when someone sit at its terminal(cant from the internet) but paper ballots cannot be replicated and prefilled in ballots..(PMLN PPPP PTI are liers when they say so)

Non-sensical argument, and not equivalent at all. You don’t uproot a system and then rush into a service a new system based on a political whim. It needs legislation first, and time to build and test the system.

Nonsense strawmanning is not a counter argument.

Paper ballots are tested in how many elections so far. Are they working? They are still causing voter fraud in every election.

Not the contents but just due process is their best ask. I respect thay. That's the end of what they can request. Parliament will ofcourse address that issue too, or may be a joint session will make them happy.

By the way that still accumulate to nothing, their storm in the tea cup is pointless.

The content may be objected to, but on very narrowly defined grounds. For example, a law that abolishes the ECP would be unconstitutional, but a constitutional amendment doing the same would be legal. Parliament is the supreme legislative authority, but it must follow all due process requirements to achieve the goals that it wishes to achieve.

So due process facilitates vote rigging as no elections conducted by ECP in history were ever called free and fair

Then the correct solution is to improve the due process, not bypass or eliminate it.
