ECP alarmed at 28 clauses of electoral reforms bill

That's fair. "Get us these laws through 2/3rd" That should be their only request then. They cannot object to the contents of law.

The only proper way to object to the content of a law passed by due process is to prove a constitutional violation.

Did you read their highlighted concerns or just post this without considering?

If you read it. Please give me a good breakdown of which points you take issue with and why. Simply restating IK’s narrative is not sufficient.
Simple - its the Parliaments unquestioned authority to pass laws and constitution not an unelected institution with a marred reputation of incompetence and political compromises. Is ECP now going to approve laws. For sake of fun replace ECP with ISPR and the election laws with laws related to security and defence - then see what drama would have been created in our media including international media. ECP needs to now ensure free and fair elections as per laws passed now - no wonder despite famine and hiv ridden sindh, PPP bags up most seat in their political history!
Now to show the disengenousiness and political compromise of this badnamar zamana institution, look at this laughable objection:
“ECP says use of EVMs cannot be adopted till it is determined whether these machines are capable for conducting free and fair elections; whether they can operate in conditions of hot weather, loadshedding etc; how the accuracy, secrecy and transparency of votes can be ensured; and whether without proper testing the ECP can ensure free and fair elections with these machines

Is Pakistan the first country in the entire civilized world to use EVMs? Hot whether?Combine this with the anti EVM tweet made from ECP account, clearly shows that they just want to drag the process so that next elections are marred again - and it shows which side really does rigging in their favor.

ECP is working according to its constitutional mandate. If any deficiencies are present, then the constitution can be amended by due process.
When thieves are in charge of constitution, what do you expect?

Not the contents but just due process is their best ask. I respect thay. That's the end of what they can request. Parliament will ofcourse address that issue too, or may be a joint session will make them happy.

By the way that still accumulate to nothing, their storm in the tea cup is pointless.

ECP is only making bullshit excuses to avoid following the law as passed by parliament

PTi government and constitution of Pakistan are in direct conflict.

I stand with constitution of Pakistan

As long as they follow due process.
So due process facilitates vote rigging as no elections conducted by ECP in history were ever called free and fair

I read first 2 and both were one sided.. they don't want overseas to have right to vote as their masters are afraid of majority vote going to PTI

They don't want EVMs as it can end their masters dhandli system
That’s not what they’re saying. In both cases they’ve added caveats; until legislation is done, and until it’s proven that EVMs will work viably.

As for the first point, I’m still not clear, what happens with constituencies? ECP is asking and so was I in that other thread. We have constituencies and FPTP, overseas vote is fine but needs to be properly defined and implemented.
