Eating out: Time to try a classy genuine Japanese meal in style

. .
I thought sushi was not a traditional japanese mean, rather just "fast food".

lol, Americans really popularized Sushi to new heights. Sushi buffets , for example, are typically found around the United States. I always find it entertaining that most of these Sushi restaurants are either owned and operated by , drum roll please, Chinese folks, lol.

In fact many of these so called "authentic Japanese Hibachi" places are owned or operated by Chinese workers.

A typical conversation between me and some of the waitresses goes like this:

Nihonjin: Nihongo o hanashimasuka ?

Waitress: **laugh loud** , oh no, i don't speak Japanese, I'm Chinese...!!

Nihonjin: *grins* Ah....you like working in Japanese restaurant?

Waitress: **grinning more** i like the tip. **simles**

Nihonjin: Want to get ice cream later?

Waitress: **grin, and exchanges numbers***

LOL.

@IsaacNewton

I have reduced foodies here to snivelling babies begging me to let them eat :P Fasting is a normal thing for me, I eat once a day if I feel like it or else a glass or Ensure keeps me going(liquid nutrition). I only eat things which are new or unique, and sadly I have tried most restaurants in my vicinity now.
As for moving to the US, Thank you for the offer but if I started my residency again in the US, I would disappear... 16 hrs shifts again :disagree: I am thinking of a 6 month contract for the Maldives, the pay is not good, but the Islands can be my vacation.

LOL! really? I've a good friend my buddy Awtar, usually he and I and some of our good friends do a cooking night once a month. We go over to each other's house and we all cook our specialty dishes from our native countries. So i usually do something either Japanese lamb dishes, and curry (they usually demand i make it, and i hate to toot my own horn but i know how to cook ...lol ). Its a mini feast, really, because there's at least 7-8 dishes , and there's so much.

One Indian / Pakistani dish that i can't have enough of is Chicken or Lamb Karahi.......that's like my soul food....
