The only time I feel really happy is having an engineering role. When I have some non-engineering/management/sales/marketing role, I feel a little bad.
I do not feel I am adding much value to the society compared to an engineer. Also, when my role allow get close to the managers, I can feel that they are insecure. Many managers are too idle and they do not fit to become a manager. When they see young talented and hard working engineers, they feel panic. That how a lot of politics came about.
I realize such politics is more common in East Asian society rather than white man land. The white man engineering managers rise up more because of their skill set. In East Asia, its about personal relationship and politicking.
BTW I just came back from Vietnam. The Vietnam office and colleague stab one another hard. I hate to see that. But I guess East Asian culture is the same everywhere.
Right now I have a little influence in shaping some company culture. But I do not feel good about it. I look at my managers and I start to pity them. They have lost their skill set and they must rely on "human skills" aka politics.
I am always afraid that as I engage in more system level job, I will become like many managers. I am able to not backstab people, gain respect and move people around precisely because the sheer amount of hard work I put in, and the technical competency which make me command certain confidence.
Many Chinese girls in cities are conscious of their looks and go for plastic surgery especially the Eyes to make them look big by using Blepharoplasty, remove scars, birth marks, Rhinoplasty of nose and silicon implants for breasts.jesus fcking christ... this women looks legit.. better than liu yi fei... lol
dude, are they for real, i mean.. no plastic surgery right?

What I said was about most Han girls, not Uighur girls. You want Big Eyes Go South in Sichuan Province. She is Uighur, most of them have naturally big eyes.
That's a weird thing for a Chinese to say, they are Chinese. I mean I know the lama and that other group like to pretend otherwise, but mostly everyone is Chinese.Lux's phobia against both Islam and Uighur is too excessive.
Here is some Uighur girls live in Shanghai, they are mostly secular and don't mind to date the Han Chinese boys.
it's true, the more educated your are the less sex you have.上海生育率已全球最低_新闻_腾讯网
Shanghai fertility is even lower than Singapore, its universe lowest. My Shanghai friend say in China, educated people do not reproduce. The non-educated people, the Uyghur got many babies.

He must be quite a good student to get into SMU.
Working in Vietnam offices, I realize Vietnamese are political animals, just like any other East Asian.
The backstabbing is very bad.
BTW, just curious, how your brother in law feel about integration of Singapore society? Did he feel any racism?

They look like a northern Chinese to me even if they are Uighurs.
The majority of Uighurs have been mixed with Hans for many centuries.
Except few natives from the Tarim Basin in the southern Xinjiang, these people look pretty caucasoid, perhaps they are theturkicizeddescendants of the ancient Tocharians.
They are not genetically related to present day Turks.
