To Chinese, the white Columbia graduate student in biochemistry was merely average.

Stand among a group of ethnic Chinese students. They are all experts in their field. You need to do something extraordinary to impress them. Knowing the subject matter in detail means you're only average.

Principle of Transformation

At 5Star, your logic is wrong because you can also claim the United States received an unfair head start from transfer of British technology.

There is a principle of "transformation" where the totality of improvements qualify as a new invention. For example, if you take a Ford Model T and add lots of improvements then today's cars are different from a Ford Model T. The inventor deserves credit for all of the improvements since the Model T.

Similarly, the U.S. pressured Mitsubishi to license a basic engine for a cheap and underpowered Hyundai car. However, all of the work for the last thirty years to build better Hyundai cars and technologies belong to the South Koreans. They deserve credit for their innovations.

It has been 57 years since the end of the Vietnam War. Vietnam has had all the time in the world to license technology, benefit from foreign investment, benefit from joint ventures, etc.

Yet, we don't see any Vietnamese multinationals or USPTO patents. Stop whining about South Korean success and try to fix your own Vietnamese failings.

You crap on your own logic to begin with by comparing Viet Nam with no tech transfer to countries with tech transfers like both China and Japan.

If Huyndai could replicate the engine then why did they ask for tech transfer? If China could replicate the high-speed rail, why asked Germany for tech transfer? Obviously, you do not want to admit that tech transfer is the SOLE decisive factor for you to achieve industrialization because it will severly discount your supa dupa achievement story.

You would have made yourself less of a clown had you tried to pitch Viet Nam against a country like Thailand; both have similar population size and little to no major industrial tech transfers.

Do you speak 1 language? If so, insulting another person's grammar even though they're bilingual doesn't exactly make you look that good.
