What's new

earthquake in Turkey all turkish members ok?

. . . . .

First of first, Gaziantep castle was not built by the Romans. The finds showed that it was built during the Hittite period. It is known that many empires throughout history used this hill as an observation castle and garrison. Also historically, the Turks used this castle for the longest time, nearly 1000 years.

I can understand that in some media circles the loss of an archaeological site is more upsetting than the loss of Turks, but the fact that this news is being shared here while thousands of our people are still under the rubble makes my chest heavy. I wish not one but all castles had collapsed and our sons and daughters had not died.

In separate messages to his Turkish and Syrian counterparts on Monday, the Iranian president offered condolences to the two Muslim nations on the earthquake fatalities.

He also stated that Iran is prepared to send emergency relief aid to the two friendly countries after the tragic incident.

Condolences to the Turkish and Syrian people, Seeing the impacts of the earthquakes is just sad. I hope people who are trapped under the debris can be saved in time.

My posting that - was to simply highlight the sheer strength/scale of the current earthquake where structures that have stood for eons, seen many earthquakes before and survived - but did not survive this one. I should have added some commentary on my intent i guess.

Been watching BBC all day - horrific videos coming out now.

Thoughts and prayers to all.

Allah help our brothers and sister in Turkey, what a tragic event.
All PDF folk please donate to charities on the ground.
I hope the world rallies to help.
