Most likely scenario, some Indian hobbyist or newspaper was going to use the drone to try and get into Pakistan and found out the hard way that drones are easy kills for the smallest of arms.
I want to get myself a Phantom 3 as well since they are really capable platforms and have return to home function too.

Sir, is there any news of if there was any data on the camera (& mechanism) of shot drone?
Analysis of the same could tell what the owner of the drone was looking for and therefore an insight into who the owner actually might be.

If the drone had a SD card on it(as this model does and Ive seen it up close) it would show what it was doing there. But Im assuming that has already been done and they realized that it was probably some amateur thing and would feel too stupid to admit a mistake right now considering the sour atmosphere and the need to one up each other on both sides.

$1200 is nothing much for terrorist groups who were try to understand the location of Indian troops so the can inter in India from safe location.....whatever... another international embarrassment for Pakistan..thanks to China

China has nothing to do with the embarrassment. The PA is responsible for it themselves in their need to man up on the IA.
$1200 may not be much for terror groups but the specifics of this drone make it less likely available off the shelf. The Phantom 3 has only just hit the US drone market.
It is a great machine for anyone interested in aerial photography and a sound investment for any news channel.
