Dress modestly: Masked men enter girls’ school, thrash students

Hi, this country seems to be going downhill by the minute. All you hear these days is, butcher your minorities, shoot liberals, expel minority students or better yet shoot them, blow up girls schools, and then finally thrash them.

The police and army are all but ineffective. What the Pakistani nation does not realize is that one errant nuclear incident will cause Pakistan to be bombed back to the ice age by the US and NATO and Co.

Fear grips Satellite Town schools as 60 men beat up students for dressing ‘inappropriately’.
RAWALPINDI:
In a first for the garrison city, sixty masked men carrying iron rods barged into a girls’ school in Rawalpindi and thrashed students and female teachers on Friday.

The gang of miscreants also warned the inmates at the MC Model Girls High School in Satellite Town to “dress modestly and wear hijabs” or face the music, eyewitnesses said.

Fear gripped the area following the attack and only 25 of the 400 students studying in the college were present on Saturday. The school employs 30 female teachers.

Attendance in other educational institutions also remained low. After hearing about the attack, all schools in the city shut down, an official of the Rawalpindi District Administration (RDA) told The Express Tribune.

A student of the girls’ school managed to inform the administration of the nearby boys’ high school of the attack. “[However,] the armed gang was so powerful that we could not rescue our teachers and colleagues over there,” Noail Javed, a grade 10 student, said.

In-charge of MC High Schools in Rawalpindi issued a notification to the heads of all girls’ schools to take pre-emptive measures to avoid such incidents in future. According to the notification, a gang comprising 60 to 70 miscreants entered into the school from a gate that was “strangely open”.

All the MC school heads were assigned the responsibility of protecting the students by the notification. A school headmistress wishing not to be named said, “How is it possible for us to protect the students from such elements. The city administration should review its security plan.”

The notification also suggested that the heads should not inform the students about the situation, so that they are not alarmed into skipping school. “Police is investigating the matter,” the notification said. Following the notification, the heads of the schools also shared the numbers of relevant police stations with the teachers in case of any untoward situation in future.

Asjad Ali, a student of class 9 at the nearby boys’ high school, said that his younger brother Awais, a student of grade 5, was also among those who were brutally beaten by the miscreants with iron rods. “The police did not come,” he said.

A police official of the New Town Police Station, asking for anonymity, told The Express Tribune, “We were under strict instructions to do nothing.” District Education Officer Qazi Zahoor and Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed were not immediately available for comments.

but Is there any other newspaper reported that incident???
looks ammazing to me.

.
no news anywhere else though.

It is easy to brandish an incident like this, originally caused by feudal problems or anything, into a religious problem!, and give it a religious angle!

.
Very sad and cowardly of these men. Alas! the Talibanization of Pakistan is sadly underway. This is so sad in a country where there is already so much grief and pain.

.
When I read the title I thought this news is regarding Afghanistan and Taliban. Damn, what has the world come to.

.
Something doesn't seem right. Why i sense, This has something to do with Qadri Protests, Make Religious elements bad in front of generl populace so they start hating them and Qadri Protests will be contained then brutally and opinion of General populace will remain sympathetic to authorities rather they side with religious elements

What nonsense, growup man, seriously.

How provocative? I hope they weren't wearing miniskirt. Don't female students wear salwar kameez and don't they seat separately from the boys? ;)

I find the whole thing weired and unexplainable. :undecided:

It's really funny when I read the comments coming from Indian. As if they really care about the wellbeing of Pakistanis. :azn:

I'm all for girls/women dressing modestly, but this is an all-girl's school (which means no men allowed). How dare these men barge in an all-girls school and invade their personal privacy like that. Islam teaches us to respect our Muslim sisters and respect their privacy.

There was other ways they could've conveyed the message of modesty in a peaceful and more decent manner.

I think these were the Tableeghee men from the Madrassahs, not the Taliban. This act is still condemnable, & Madrassahs need to stay in their limits & stay in their confinements.

Just doesnt sound right, 60 men what bus loads, trucks and the coment from the police chief?

Come on hundreds of girls being beaten by guys with iron bars and the local police say sorry not going to do any thing? It just doesnt make sense.

Even if they were wearing a miniskirt, or weren't wearing anything at all, no one has the right to lay a finger on them, or tell them what to do. The people who did this, & the police that refused to act against them must both be sent to jail & given a beating they will never forget.

And yet you support these type of guys in taking over Afghanistan but not our country......hmmm.

Only Muslim sisters..?? Not all women irrespective of their religion?

I don't support them. I just don't want to do anything with them, or Pakistan to do anything with them. Let the Afghans handle their own mess. The Taliban are their own people, who control 75% of Afghanistan, through the support of their own people.

But all your threads imply that you do and in one post you even claimed that they are the rightful rulers of Afghanistan.
