DRDO to conduct eighth ballistic interceptor missile test this month.

.
Exactly. Not only there is doubt regarding Prithvi's "mimicry" of an MRBM (regarding velocity), as far as I know its payload doesn't separate during the whole flight (not sure though, can anybody shed more light on warhead separation of Prithvi?)
If it is true, the huge missile and its large delta wings make a gigantic bull's eye as compared to the ReV of an MRBM for the interceptor missile. If thats the case, Prithvi is simply not the right target for ABMs!
I believe precautions are taken that RCS of prithvi would be similar to that of an MRBM .

But that is not the right way , when the system is for real time threat , what prevents from testing it in real time mode ? If we can make prithvis reach velocity of Mach 5 then why dont we make confusing version of prithvi that follows MRBM path so that enemy cannot predict from where the missile had been launched .

DRDO is working hard to induct AAD to close phase I of the BDM programme but where is my Fav? PDV????:angry::angry:

No Nirbhay, No Agni-5!!! I want PDV. Nirbhay also pretty cool but PDV is the coolest of all missiles.

Thad just did 5 simultaneous engagements...including cruise missiles. Read it in the moniter...(Ft. Bliss paper) (from Kwajalien....not simulation)

If THAAD does 50 simultaneous engagements, no one will doubt that. Uncle Sam can do every thing. No what is your point?

These were questions asked by Indian side during a PAC-2 briefing by US

Questions from the Indian side included the following: --

What special waveforms does the system use to discriminate between decoys and warheads/re-entry vehicles? --

What is the maximum detection range and altitude? --

What is the maximum detection range and altitude in cued mode (i.e. when prompted by an outside detection system)? -

- What is the minimum time and distance in which a missile threat can be engaged? --

What is the total area one Patriot battery defends? --

Has protection envelope data been verified by actual missile firings? --

What is the maximum range to hit a C-130 flying at an altitude of 5000-6000 meters? --

What is a PAC-2 GEM missile's time/range to self-destruction? --

How does Patriot handle multiple missiles launched at the same target? --

How does the missile complete its end game intercept, and can it do so without radar updates? --

What redundancies exist in case of radar failure? --

Can control of missile launchers be transferred if one battery goes down? --

How much time is required to pack up a Patriot battery, move it, and set it back up again? -

- What is the "dead zone," or minimum range for the PAC-2 to detect/engage a threat? --

What Aegis radar upgrades are taking place (in relation to integration with Patriot)? --

What is the weight of the PAC-2 GEM warhead? -

- How does Patriot compare to Israel's Arrow missile defense system? --

At this stage of the NSSP (Next Steps in Strategic Partnership), what kinds of information are you authorized to share? --

Has transfer of technology occurred with other countries buying Patriot? --

Has there been collaboration with other countries on PAC-3? -

- Does the US have overarching missile cooperation arrangements with major partners, and does it involve technology sharing? --

Are other countries acquiring components of an overarching missile defense system? --

How effective is Patriot as a stand-alone system (i.e. without space-based cueing)? --

What is being developed beyond PAC-3? --

What is the status of MEADS (Medium Extended Air Defense System)? --

Will MEADS have a sea-based component? --

What is the time frame for MEADS to be deployed?

GOI Ballistic Missile Threat Perception ---------------------------------------

¶11. (S) A.S. Sarma, DRDO/RCI Air Defense Project Director, gave a classified briefing on the GOI's perception of the Ballistic Missile Threat to India. The Indian delegation asked that information contained in the brief not be given wide dissemination within the USG, but controlled on a need-to-know basis. The brief included threat rings from existing ballistic threats in the region, as well as those under development. The main thrust was that the ballistic threat to India was not from a single sector, but, in a worst-case scenario, could include coordinated, simultaneous attacks from 360 degrees with multiple objects. (Note: A hard copy of the briefing was not made available to the US delegation. End Note.)

Interesting to observe that US was looking for technical benefits from Indian ABM program

COMMENT: As the Indians readily admit, they have no current missile defense capabilities, meaning that any technological cooperation may be completely one-sided and only to their benefit. They claim to have made great progress in their software development for MD, so this is one possible benefit for us; yet even so, at this time any advantage we may gain is probably limited to political goodwill with the GOI. It was disappointing to note that the Indian delegation preferred to keep these talks at the technical level for now, avoiding bringing in policy level participants, and the Indian suggestion to hold next year's exercise in Hyderabad instead of New Delhi was probably their attempt to distance themselves physically from policy-level participation. It was interesting to note the great fascination both the MEA and the DRDO have for our cooperation with the Japanese. The timing and detail of both Srivastava 's and Saraswat's questions, both following each other rapidly, suggests that they want to play at that level. END COMMENT. MULFORD

Thanks SA for sharing. Outstanding info.

I think with these they can compare AAD with PAC-3 and improve.

PDV would be the sexiest one . We need Nirbhay bro , we can keep A5 aside and develop K6/K4 .

Yes Nirbhay is very mush needed just like Astra and Arjun but PDV is the most hig tech and coolest missile. I am waiting for her for long time...

Sorry, India is not Taiwan, we can take care of ourselves.

You are delusional if you think India has operational BMD. The only way India can acquire oe is by asking US to set one up.

. .
why don't you go cry a river to russia for allowing you guys to rip off Al-41 engine before your economy comes crushing down due to the incurring costs of the failed ws-xx engines :woot:

Your post make zero sense. I'm a Taiwanese in the US. Don't treat all the East Asians as Chinese. I know some of you racist Indians regard NE "Chinese" looking Indians no less than stray dogs. But keep your shameless racist attitude inside your own country and stop embarrass yourself internationally in an international forum such as this one.

You speak as if USA is only nation having BMDs out there, what about Israel and Russia.

Israel acquire with American assistance. And they need them as they are under constant attack from the terrorist. Russia can only detonate a nuke and pray that it hit something. Are you suspecting that anyone can come close to the US when it's defense related tech.

. .
^^^^^^^^

This guys says the same thing in every Indian thread.

He calls Indians delusional and tells them to go for an American product. You're a broken record.

Truth hurts. Unless you guys accept the ground reality, I'll keep on spreading the reality to you guys.
