3 crew requirement mean an auto loader, best to go with Russia, i have a hunch that FMBT would be based on armata which Russia is developing

yes exactlyActual I heard Chander sahab saying that with plane like cockpit and high automation, it may be possible to operate a tank with 2 crew. He was in discussion with army. We really need a compact tank of 50 to 55 ton of with a high fire power and a lots of protection.
God I hope not! Keep away from those incompetent parasites!
Hopefully DRDO ties up with the French or Israelis for the FMBT.

Not the Israelis, the Germans would be the perfect partners.
Arjun is based on German design too, but what's the point when DRDO develops it as they want, without including the IA directly from day 1 and without taking full benefit of possible foreign support? It's hilarious how Mr Chander praises Barak 8 and Brahmos or radar developments, when it actually shows where DRDO is most successful, in joint developments! FMBT is again just a distraction they want to jump on, after the mess Arjun created and if they again want to do it alone, instead of forming a proper joint development, we will only see more failed developments.
Well,I don't think that they will **** up on the future tank development project.
I said that we should bring the Germans in was because after looking at the Arjun,it seemed to me that CVRDE does not yet know how to properly design a turret with as few weak zones as possible.
Compare the concepts DRDO developed for IFVs and what is modern standard today, you will see a huge difference. They might be able to develop subsystems, but are very poor in design and implementing it to a modern design (look at MK2). If they are smart and for once put the national interest before their own, they use the team up with TATA for FICV, directly for a team up for the FMBT as well.
True, just compare the MK2 upgrade to upgrades of the Leopard 2 and you will see huge differences. However, I'm still disappointed that the Mahindra / BAE team up didn't worked out, or could be extended to a tank development, especially after seeing what BAE did with the prototype of the future Polish light tank, based on the CV90.
you studied from JEC??Jabalpur University ? haha I studied there, I would love to read about it. link please
Yes,you studied from JEC??
If we need enough protection on all sides, then I guess even with a 3 men crew attaining all that, within 50 ton would be very difficult if not outright impossible.55-56 ton sounds more reasonable.I hope they go for a 140mm L52 smooth barrel gun if they are aiming for a 3 men crew.
