Exactly my point.When it comes to developing the subsystems,DRDO can deliver but they suck big time when it comes to putting the building blocks together to build an end product that would be ergonomic and as per the need of the armed forces.

That mark 2 was put together quickly.

Funny thing is, they were testing a better turret design way back in the prototype stage, but was rejected.

This Indian army guys demand bloody hell of things with composite armor and than ERA and then trophy like system There should be some limit of demand.

I know but I can't blame them on this really.I mean after all,it's their arse which is on the line and they are justified to ask for all the protection for their men they deem necessary.A significant amount of weight can be reduced if Indian Army decides to go with unmanned turret and the latest Ukrainian style active suspension system which is very compact and light compared to what is now on-board Arjun tanks.

Yes indeed,it was based on a British prototype.I don't know what could the reasons have been to go for the present turret with weak spots all over the frontal ark instead of this one.

Of course,but this is India remember??Corruption is everywhere,how could the Army be an exception??For some top generals,it's more important to pile up a big fat and nice retirement fund and the rest including the national security and the lives of the men they command can go to hell.
